Kyle, it’s only been two months and it is understandable that you still miss her. She was with you a long time and filled your home and heart. Are you able to find smiles when you think of Presley and the wonderful life you shared? Please come to our group meeting June 15th. I think you’ll find comfort sharing with others who undertsand and care. And keep sharing with us here – we are here for you. Toni -

Rebecca, you are an absolute angel, caring for so many over he years, knowing that saying goodbye takes a piece of you with each one. How kind and loving of you. It’s very hard but very rewarding, isn’t it? Pancreatic is one of the most dreaded cancers and I am so very soory for Toby Ryan, and for you. How long were you together? How did you meet? How many kitties do you have now? Are they missing Toby Ryan, too? As you read through the posts here, you’ll see that other pets in the household do indeed mourn the passing of a friend, too, and need extra loving, as do you, Rebecca. I am sending you a {{HUG}} and my sympathy. And gratitude for all you do for others. Toni -

The other pets in a household were friends, too, and mourn. She needs your love and kindness now, just as you need hers. You’ll help each other get through this time and the changes to daily routines. Please tell us about her, Cindy. Were they blood relatives? About the same age? Were they close (it sounds like it). What a fun and full life you shared with Anjewel, Jen. Gosh, what a charmer. That face, those eyes… It is the hard, sad part of pet parenting – knowing one day we will say goodbye. But boy, what a great life you gave her, and she to you. We’d love more time, but are grateful for the love we will always treasure. One month isn’t long and I hope with time you find more smiles before tears with her memories. You are welcome to create a lasting memorial to Anjewel in our Memorial area (at the top of this page). And please join our June 15th group meeting to share more about Anjewel and her life of adventure. We’d really love to hear about her. With my sympathy, Toni -

Chris, when I said goodbye to my girl, I felt good knowing she was at peace. She was old and had become quite unwell. But, when I walked in the house the emptiness and reality hit me hard. It does take time and the pain lessens. Do you think it was best for him that he was not sick for long? Better than a drawn out illness? Ten years, a hundred…it’s never long enough. We never will forget them, and I am grateful for the time we shared, as I suspect you are. It’s good to hear your update and I hope you continue to let us know how you are doing. And thank you for so kindly sharing your own support with others. It’s why we are here. Please come to our next group meeting June 15th. It’s good to talk among understanding people. Sending you a {HUG}. Toni -

Rebecca, what a beautiful picture of Toby Ryan! And I am so sorry you lost him. I love it that the community is working: people who know what you are going through chiming in and letting you know you are not alone in your grief. It doesn’t bring anybody back but the pain of grief is so much harder to bear when you have to do it all alone. And many people don’t know the strong ties that connect us with our furry friends. Some even belittle or judge your grief. Not here. Please find comfort in this place that is created to hear you and to make space for your grief – AND stories about your beloveds quirks and joys and endearing habits. I love to see the photos that go with the names and I appreciate to get to know about this special friend. I love to read how people go through stages of grief, how they take courage from talking and remembering and being vulnerable by describing the pain and loss. I see that many stay with the community and write about healing and moving on without giving up what was so special about this love. This is a truly good place. -

I’m so sorry for your loss 😢
I lost mine to lung cancer and I didn’t even know he had cancer until that fateful day! Hugs -

Aww she will adjust, they know more than we think they know.
I think mine was depressed for a bit after my friend had to send her baby across the bridge a year prior to mine. It’s like you leave the house with them and you come home without them. -

It has been 9 weeks now since I lost my sweet baby boy, it is getting a little bit better but oh how I miss seeing him everywhere in the house.
At times I still can\’t believe that he is really gone. 😢💔🐕-

What a sweet face he has! I know how you wait for them to show up where they used to be! When I would drive up to my house my cat Drew would welcome me. He could hear I was coming from the sound of my car! It’s been 3 years and I still for a split second expect him to sit there waiting for me. But now I think more about how cute and funny he was. And your boy is safe now, no aches or pains due to age or illness. Sometimes I think we are courageous to give our hearts away again and again because we know it’s not forever. But the time we have with them is precious and stays with us. All the memories and stories. I hope you have support to help heal your heart, a friend or your family. And you have this group. Talking about them helps. Sending good wishes!

Things are fine. My one dog still doesn’t understand she is the only one now. Still looking around corners. One day she will get it

Rebecca, I am so, so sorry for your loss 😞 From what I read, I see how loving and kind you have been to so many kitties, knowing full well that one day you would go through this horrible pain when they leave.
I lost my boy in January and am still grieving so hard. I don’t know how people can go through this heartache over and over again. But, I thank goodness for people like you who help these poor fur babies.
Sending you hugs 🫂 to comfort you at this very sad time. 💔
I wish you peace
