Oh my goodness, Cathy. That is so hard – saying goodbye to a love that has been a huge part of your life for so many years, through so many events and ups and downs. I am so very sorry for your parting💔I am also happy you and Bug were lucky to share twenty loving years together! In our heads we know that 20 years is a wonderful lifetime, but our hearts are never ready to let go. Cathy, I hope you will join us for a kind, caring group meeting Novemebr 20th. It’s usually a small group and you can sry, laugh and curse with us – we understand. Please keep sharing with us here and know we are here for you. Toni

Ingeborg, I am so sorry💔When I lost my Beauty Girl I struggled with the question “How am I going to endure this”? And you know what, I slept with a stuffed toy and made myself think of the many times of joy and love we were lucky to share – that really helped me get through. Your sweet boy had a loving life wth you. The brutal part of loving so much is saying goodbye. Ingeborg, PLEASE join our kind group meeting Thursday Novemebr 20th. I think it helps a lot to talk, and cry, with us – we understand and care. In the mean time, keep sharing here with us so we can know how and what you are doing. With my sincere sympathy, Toni

I just put my 14.5 year old Black Lab down on Friday. He was my shadow, My Footwarmer. I miss my buddy. But I know he is with Aunt Patty and His Littermate Ajiah.

Bernadette, I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your sister and your pets. My name is Bernadette too. My older sister and I moved to Florida after she retired in 2005 and we came here with our six cats and several birds. Over the years I lost my pets one by one. 2 1/2 years ago, my sister passed away. she was the last of my family, and at that time I only had the last of my original kitties, Minnie, still with me. 10 months later, she passed away and I was completely alone and in tears pretty much every day. After four months of not knowing what to do with myself I adopted a senior kitty who pretty much saved me. I didn’t want a young cat because at 68 years old. I was terrified of having to leave any pets behind if something happened to me. And then this past Labor Day, the universe dropped a four month old kitten on my driveway, and what could I do? I spend a good chunk of each day thinking about what I can do to find someone to care for my babies if something were to happen to me. Your sister knew she had someone she could count on in you to take care of her little ones and that’s really a gift. I don’t think it ever gets easier, and for me I don’t know if I’ll ever be whole again, but I take one day at a time. If you can, you should try and join in on the Faithful Friends zoom meeting on the third Thursday of each month. I found Toni when I was in a dark place and it helps to have people to talk and cry with. I will tell you things will get better because I know better than that but just take small steps, one day at a time. Hope to see you at the meeting. -

Bernadette, I have been thinking about your sentiment and am so very sorry for the passing of your dear sister💔I have a sister and can’t imagine the pain of losing her. It is understandable that losing one of her beloved babies brings forward such deep pain. Can you think of the comfort you gave her pets and the love you carried from her, through you, to them, and feel that you did exactly what your sister entrusted you to do – to care for and about them? Too many people don’t plan for their pet’s care and you and your sister are clearly loving to plan ahead. I hope you can find peace knowing that you fulfilled your sister’s wishes by caring the way you have, and do. That’s a lot and I am sorry for your pain. And I am happy that your sister knew to share her love of her pets with you. Please Bernadette, let us know how you are doing, and come to our online group meeting November 20th to share with other kind, caring people. I am sending you {{BIG HUGS}}. Toni -

My heart is broke.
Losing Dima has got me feeling so depressed.
She was my baby sis’s dad g – who passed away from ovarian cancer & I promised her I’d take care of her dog & cat. I feel like I buried my baby sis all over again.
Just having a hard time keeping my head up.-
I’m sorry, Bernadette <3

It is so good that you are there for, and with your mom, and understand her pain (and yours) is real. It takes time and love to heal, and be able to find joy in your memories of the time you were lucky to share with darling Lucy. Please keep us posted about how you are both doing. {{BIG HUGS}} Toni - Load More
