    Happy heavenly birthday, Oliver!
It’s hard to believe that one year ago today Sebastian and I had to suddenly say goodbye to you. This picture was taken in the morning the day before I said goodbye to you. We were both enjoying some one-on-one lap time together, then about six hours later you apparently through an undiagnosed blood clot. I know your last hours before you crossed the rainbow bridge were agonizingly painful for both you and I. I’m sorry for that. I know you’ve long forgotten that pain and trauma, but it’s not something I will soon forget. I miss you so much Oliver and your sweet brother Sebastian, who died almost 10 months to the day I had to say goodbye to you suddenly and unexpectedly too. Like you he appeared fine one day and the next he was quickly going downhill. I’m glad the two of you are once again reunited and I look forward to the day When I will once again be reunited with you both, along with Kovu, Morgaine, Eragon, Spirit, Autumn Ranger,Saraya, Kalina, and Freyja. I’m trying to focus and remember the good times we had together rather than the painful goodbye so I want to share one of my favorite memories of you. When I went to do my pre-adoption visit with you and Sebastian at the SPCA. The staff suggested I do a crate visit with you both as your brother was so frightened and timid. You were sitting protectively in front of your brother, who was as far back in the crate as he could get. When I reached my arm into Pet you both, you immediately placed your paw over my arm and began to lick my hand. I knew at that point that we were meant to be, and that you Oliver had chosen to adopt me as your new human mom for you and your brother. While writing this makes me feel sad, the memory also brings much joy to my heart, knowing that I was able to provide a loving forever home to you and Sebastian, even if the time I had with both of you was way too short.

Thank you Toni, you are a genius! I called the vet today because needed to see if I was able to get more Nausea Meds, for Kaylanee, as Wednesday’s seem to be the day she likes to give me back all her food, and heaven forbid, she throw up on the floor vs., the carpet! So gonna start being proactive and giving her nausea meds Wednesday morning with her breakfast. Any way while talking to the receptionist, I asked if I could get a vet tech appointment for April 2, after seeing the cardiologist, success! I have one about 30 minutes after I finish with the cardiologist. The Cardiologist, is unable to do it because, she’s not an official vet at this practice, she just sees patients there 1/2 x per week. THANK YOU, however, Toni for the suggestion. Ironically enough despite giving me back all her supper and than some last night, she thankfully didn’t turn down the second churro, I put her nausea meds in and she lapped it all up. I just crushed it and mixed it in. It was funny to watch her however, because she knew it tasted different. Today she’s back to eating, like normal. 😁

Can the cardiologist do the blood work on the 2nd? It sounds as if Kaylanee is doing better and I hope that continues. Can you ask the doctors for help with the insurance company if you get resistance from them? Keep us posted.😻

          Kaylanee update:
I got off the phone with my vet about an hour ago. The good news is he didn’t see anything serious. He did notice, thickening of the intestinal wall. I’ve got a vet tech appointment on 4/17 for a blood test that needs to be sent to Texas AM, that will let us know if it is irritable bowel syndrome or possible pancreatic issues? I’ve been down this road before for this particular blood test as Oliver had to have it once a year for his IBD. If that fails to produce any results, then there’s some other tests that we will look into providing the insurance company will cover all of her health challenges. In the mean time I will keep her strictly on the Hills Biome diet, as it’s for gastrointestinal issues, which thankfully she’s eating. She also gained a 1/4 lb which is good too. Now I just need to hope and pray the insurance covers all of this and doesn’t find an excuse to tell me it’s a preexisting condition, which technically they shouldn’t since all her pre illness blood work came back good. Her next appointment is 4/2 with the cardiologist. I’m not to concerned with this appointment, as the vet said it wasn’t urgent for her to see the cardiologist , as her heart blood test was just a little elevated but I wanted it sooner rather than later, so hopefully she will be cleared for her much needed dental surgery. While I’m still not sure exactly what’s wrong with Kaylanee, I feel hopeful, that I will be able to spoil her for a good long time, since she was rescued from an abuse situation.

                  Leslie,
I’m so very sorry to hear about your boyfriend’s passing and now you face the pending loss of his beloved dog. The waiting and worrying is almost worse, at least for me, than the actual having to say goodbye bye to my beloved fur babies. I’ve been on that emotional roller coaster way too much over this past year and deeply feel your pain. Holding you and your dog in prayer and praying that you may feel God’s loving healing embrace.

My boyfriend passes away on 2 months ago, I took in his 13 year old golden lab.. Just a great all around dog. He did great for a month , then loss his appetite and had diarrhea, I thought he was missing his owner, but found out he as hemaniosarcoma. I am so depressed. The vet said 2 wks to 2 months. I can see he is deteriorating fast. I am up all nite checking on him , and making sure he is OK. Mentally taking a toll.

My, Annie is a complicated little girl, isn’t she? If I’m understanding this correctly, if the blood work shows the cause of the diarrhea and it can be treated with antibiotics or some medicine, then we monitor the liver mass. That would be a good outcome. It’s so hard to not know what’s going on, then finding out and determinig what’s best for her. You are a wonderful mother, Berni. Thank you for keeping us posted and please update us. {{HUGS to you, Annie and Andy}}. Toni

Berni, I am so happy to hear that Annie is okay and that there is no cancer. Hope they find out what is causing the diarrhea.

Kaylanee’s ultrasound with the internal medicine doctor went well. She did well and thankfully was cooperative. Shes’s definitely a much better patient than I am. I was a nervous wreck all morning waiting for the vet to call me, so I’d be able to go pick her up. While I may not have the results of the ultrasound, until Friday, possibly sooner, it depends on how many ultrasounds he did today and how many reports he then has to write up to send to individual vets, I’m feeling a lot less stressed, as she’s back home with me and acting her usual friendly self. I will update everyone on the results, when I hear from my vet.

Hi there, I took Annie for her visit today. They did some blood tests and a more localized ultrasound to get a better look at the liver mass. They found that the mass had multiple small cysts and that the aspirate was a clear fluid which is consistent with a benign biliary cystadenoma and that it was an incidental finding and not believed to be the cause of the chronic diarrhea. They also said these kinds of masses can grow slowly over time and may eventually cause clinical signs like vomiting or loss of appetite by compressing the adjacent structures like the stomach & gallbladder. If it were to grow significantly larger, they might consider surgical removal at some point in the future, but they don’t believe that the liver mass itself has anything to do with the chronic diarrhea so basically I’m waiting on the results from the bloodwork and a GI panel for what the next steps would be. Depending on what they find they mentioned that options might include endoscopic or surgical intestinal biopsies, or possibly removal of the mass to prevent further complications. I’ll let you know what they find after I get the results back.

Tomorrow Kaylanee goes to the internal medicine vet, for her abdominal ultrasound. I’m preparing for the worst but hoping and praying for the best. Thankfully she’s doing reasonably well since I had to take her into the vet on 3/13 for an emergency visit. She’s eating like she’s starving and thankfully no digestive issues. She also loves hanging out on my shoulder when I’m sitting and walking around.
