Alesa,
I’m so sorry for your loss and feel your pain. It’s never easy to say goodbye to bye to our beloved friends but as I learned this past weekend and multiple times before, it’s the greatest gift we are able to give them, sometimes. I won’t say the pain will ever go away or it will get easier with time because each person’s journey is different. I had to say goodbye to a cat I’d only had in my life 2 1/2 years, this past Saturday but it was probably the hardest goodbye I’ve made off all the cats I’ve had because he truly was my soul cat. I didn’t adopt my Oliver, he chose me as his human. When I did my pre-adoption visit I did a crate visit because his surviving bonded brother,Sebastian, was and still is very timid and shy and they didn’t want to force him out of the crate. Anyway when I reached in the crate to pet them, Oliver put his paw over my hand and started licking me. I knew then they both were coming home with me, I just never dreamed Oliver would be gone in 2 1/2 years. Hopefully in time your grief and pain will lesson. One thing I’ve. Found helpful in easing my shattered heart is to share Oliver’s story in online support groups like this one. My vet also has an individual who leads an online zoom support group and also offers one/one therapy sessions. I’m not sure how much she charges for the later or if she’d be willing to do this via tele-health but if you’re interested I’ll gladly share her contact information with you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you mourn Bruno’s passing. May you and all others mourning the loss of a beloved animal or human feel God’s loving healing embrace.
Alesa, I am so sorry for your loss of Bruno 💔 He certainly was a handsome boy and I know you will miss him forever. Sending comforting hugs to you 💔
