He was fine when I left for work that morning. But my mom called me at 10 to say he was vomiting and breathing hard. By the time I got home he didn’t want to move.i took him to the emergency vet and they found a massive tumor with fluid all around it. They said they could have done surgery but that it was an aggressive tumor and would only give him an extra 3 months! So I decided to end his suffering. I snuggled with him as he passed. This happened 6 weeks ago.-
Oh gosh, Tammy. That sounds like my childhood dog, Prince. He didn’t get up all day and we took him to the vet, where he died overnight. In a way, it’s best for them to have a healthy life until one very bad day. Letting them go peacefully is the most loving, generous, and difficult acts of kindness we can share with them. I am very sorry for your loss. Are you finding smiles before tears when you think of him, or still feeling pretty ‘raw’?

I miss my Emmett terribly! I had to put him to sleep after a very sudden illness. It all happened so fast!

Oh no, Tammy. That’s so hard. What symptoms did Emmett have? It’s good to share information like that with our community, so we can be aware. Did you have in-home euthanasia or was he at the vet already? When did it happen? I am so very sorry :-(…..Let us know how you are coming along. HUGS
