He was fine when I left for work that morning. But my mom called me at 10 to say he was vomiting and breathing hard. By the time I got home he didn’t want to move.i took him to the emergency vet and they found a massive tumor with fluid all around it. They said they could have done surgery but that it was an aggressive tumor and would only give him an extra 3 months! So I decided to end his suffering. I snuggled with him as he passed. This happened 6 weeks ago.
        • Oh gosh, Tammy. That sounds like my childhood dog, Prince. He didn’t get up all day and we took him to the vet, where he died overnight. In a way, it’s best for them to have a healthy life until one very bad day. Letting them go peacefully is the most loving, generous, and difficult acts of kindness we can share with them. I am very sorry for your loss. Are you finding smiles before tears when you think of him, or still feeling pretty ‘raw’?

I miss my Emmett terribly! I had to put him to sleep after a very sudden illness. It all happened so fast!

          • Oh no, Tammy. That’s so hard. What symptoms did Emmett have? It’s good to share information like that with our community, so we can be aware. Did you have in-home euthanasia or was he at the vet already? When did it happen? I am so very sorry :-(…..Let us know how you are coming along. HUGS
