Pretty sure he was still high on his drugs when I took the photo. I’ll keep you updated. Should know by early next week if there’s anything to be concerned about. Thanks so much for asking. -

Thanks for sharing a photo, Judith <3-
How are you now, Judith? Poor little Bella. You gave her the most selfless gift of release and relief. I am sure you are exhausted and crying and wandering around looking at her things…and it’s just so hard. Please let us know how you are coming along, and how we might help you. HUGS, Toni

Home from the vet.-
Good. Benny looks kind of….relieved and miffed? When you get the results, please let us know, and send pictures of him the next few days as he recovers. We’re thinking of you both.

Thank you for the add….I\’m hoping this site may help with the grief of losing pets…..
I lost my best friend of nine and a half years named Zeke…..I was visiting my son in Atlanta at the time and had my brother caring for him when I receive this call from my sister saying Zeke died. I was livid! Having never dealt with loss before, it tore me apart. Zeke went out to potty and started barking at a deer in the yard who turned on him and stomped the life out of him. They tried surgery to repair damage, but to no avail. He passed during that night. I miss him every day even though it\’s been five years now. Does it ever get better or easier?
Now, my husband and I lost Sadie due to bone cancer. She started limping on one leg in January of last year. We figured she had a pulled muscle or something, but the vet showed my husband her xray showing bone cancer in that shoulder. We ended up losing her so quickly! It was only a couple of months until she was in so much pain, we had her put to sleep. Right there in our arms, she took her last breath. Why this happens to such great animals, I\’ll never understand.
Thank you for letting me vent. It\’s like I can\’t stop crying for these babies! I know it will get easier in time.
Since losing Zeke five years ago, I\’ve lost my father, my sister and my mother. When will it get easier, I ask?
My husband and I talk about Sadie frequently and always come to tears. I\’m finally able to look at her picture and think of some of the good times with her, but most of the time, I can\’t control the tears! Our other dog, Buster started mourning her along with us. He literally cries like she just left us. Unfortunately, Buster has encephalitis and will not be with us much longer. We cherish every day he\’s still here. I\’m not sure how I\’m going to take losing him too. It\’s so hard! I\’m happy to have found this site where others feel the same way. Thank you for letting me share.-
Brigette, We are all here for one another and your tears, no matter how long they fall, are always ones we share with you. You have suffered so many losses in these past years that it must be a continuing sense of grief for you and your family. We have a book in our shop you may find helpful – “101 Ways to Help Heal Your Heart” – and we will be happy to make it available to you in sympathy. Let me know if you might like a book. Also, we have a grief counselor available for you to consult if you like: click the Grief Counseling box at the top right of this page to contact Rev. Glenn directly to schedule a session. And of course, continue to engage with our community of caring pet lovers. It’s why we are here and we want to know how you are coming along. It may not help much, but here is a HUG for you. Toni

I’m still missing my Snowball so much it’s been 5 years

Lori, as we see from so many of our bereaved friends here, time isn’t really important when it comes to grieving, and even when the really hard part eases, we still miss them. And tears pop up at the smallest thing that brings the memories. So, you can cry with us, and smile about the good times, too. Please, let us know how you are.

These 2 are my world. Jack on the left I rescued about 7 years ago from outside in dangerous windshields and Willow, on the right, I just rescued August 2020
after her ex owner moved and left her behind. She was alone 5 weeks before I found out about her. She was very stressed when I got her but has come a long ways. -

Sorry for your loss.-
Thank you. As we all know, she was a member of the family.

Oh my dog, Dan – what a face! The ears, the eyes, the attitude… Daisy owns my heart and I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing her. Of course you cried, and I suspect still do from time to time, but the happy memories of the joyful, loving times together support you, don’t they? Please let us know how you are. And Dan, if you want to lend your support to others in our caring community, please do. It really does mean a lot. I cry each time I read the loving tributes our members share. I think we all feel pain for one another. Toni
