• @teresasegars I am so sorry for your loss, Teresa. Muffin. The name makes me smile. What kind of pet was Muffin? How did you meet? How long were you together? May we hear about Muffin and see some photos? Are you doing okay, Teresa? Not so good? We’re here for you with sympathy and understanding. Toni

    • Muffin was shitzu and havanese. I adopted her 11 years ago. She was my whole life and I’m not ok at all. It started out with her eye having a infection. Took her to the vet and the vet didn’t really check her but a tech did. Sent her home with antibiotics and predizone. She quit eating and then quit drinking water. I still don’t know what really happened to her. She passed on labor day and there was no vets open. Couldn’t afford to take her miles away to a emergency vet. I’m on a fixed income. I had planned to take her the day after Labor Day but she didn’t make it. I’m not ok at all. She loved me unconditionally and was always happy to see me. I’m all alone now
      • Of course you are not okay, Teresa. It is such a recent loss and your house is empty without Muffin. That is brutally painful. Do you have family or friends with whom you can visit? Maybe stay with for a little bit? If not, can you get out of the house for a few hours each day, perhaps sit in a park? Anything to fill in the hole that has been left. I found sleeping with a stuffed toy helpful. Watch silly things on TV. Keep moving if you can. I mopped the floors over and over just to keep busy. Teresa, in our heads we know our pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough. It’s our hearts that ache when their lives have run their course. When you are able, can you think of Muffin’s life like a ruler with each of her 11 years as an inch. Up until the very last part of that ruler, Muffin shared a great life of love and joy with you. Perhaps thinking of that will help. Also, you could write notes to Muffin, then write what her response to you would be. I bet she’d be grateful for the life you shared and want you to be happy for having her in your life. Please keep in touch with us, and come to our group Sep. 21st. I am so very sorry, Teresa, and we are here to help you through this. 💔💔Toni
