What helped me a lot after losing a pet is getting another pet. At first I didn’t want to. The heartbreak was too great. And of course no one could ever replace my pet. But then my brother had to give up his cat, so we took her in. Best thing we ever did, she was wonderful. When she passed away, once again I was destroyed. Then I came across a stray that was almost hit by traffic. No one claimed him, so he has been with me for over eleven years. He is just the sweetest. Then a few years ago I found a stray in my parking lot. Security & maintenance were shooing him away. They hated him always coming around. I took him in. I tried to find his owners, but once again, no one claimed him. I kept him. They have given me so much joy. I’m glad I got more cats. So I suggest to people that are mourning their pets, is to get another one. There are too many animals in shelters that need good homes. They need the love only you can provide. And they will reward you ten fold over with love. Just remember, they will never replace your lost pet. They will not be the same. Like children, they have their own unique personalities. And it takes a lot of patients, love, and a little work. You will never regret it. Trust me. PS, Forgive me I’m a terrible speller, ect… . View
