    She was declining quickly and with her cancer on top of arthritis she was in a lot of pain. She went peacefully though, she was fast asleep when they gave her the final injection. I would love to join a group meeting, what time is it?

      I lost my darling girl Sara this morning to cancer, I have loved her for years and wasn\’t ready to let go. She was the bestest girl and I don\’t know what I\’m going to do without her

        Oh Kacey, I am so, so sorry. Was Sara declining? In pain? If so, she is now relieved and at peace, even though you were not ready to say goodbye. That is the hardest part of loving – saying goodbye. Our pets are never with us long enough. Never. But we are graced with their company and all the joys we get to share for as long, or as little, as we get. Please think of the many wyas and times you and Sara loved and frolicked, and know she had her best life with you. And Kacey, do join our group meeting Thursday Feb. 16th if you can. We want to hear from you and are here for you. Toni

            My least favorite part of loving – seeing them in pain, and declining. It doesn’t really ease the pain of parting but it does give a sense of relief and release to know their suffering has ended.
