We miss duke so much its only been a week tomorrow

Sandie, a week is not very long. A lifetime isn’t enough to erase the memories, but they do come with smiles, and the tears abate after a time. It’s too soon for you to have that right now. Duke is still very much with you – in your rooms where you romped and petted, the toys with which you played, where you all slept – Go through the tears. Weep when they come to you. And let us know how you are progressing. Because it is a process through which we must move, and underneath all the sorrow and extreme heartache, there is the absolute joy and love you and Duke shared. That will come. You be sad now, and know we are here with you.
