Absolutely! I grew up with Tiger – our cat, and Prince – our dog. They were both six weeks when we got them and both dies at sixteen. They didn’t know they were different – they were simply brothers. Thank you for sharing the smiles 🙂

Toni I too believe that some people are “energetically” connected. I am particularly drawn to this image because in my mind a person’s character is revealed by the way they treat animals. -

Valerie, I speak to my Riley all the time, I find it comforting, as I’m sure you do when you speak to “Patch” In a way you are keeping her alive in your heart. So no, I don’t think you are “cracking up” I think that speaking to our lost pets is a way for us to cope with their being gone. So keep talking to her, it will help sooth your pain. -

Susan, I think we are energetically connected. Really. We are bringing in a wonderful artist to do renditions of pet pictures that are shared and this image makes me think of that. Oh Susan, this is so true and wonderful. Thank you for sharing it. It’s so hard to suffer the grief of parting from our beloved faithful friends, and this reminds me of the future joys and love ahead when we are able to open our hearts again. I have a tear now. My cat is older and we are treating several challenges, and I appreciate this reminder that one day, when she is gone, I can open myself to a new sweet soul.

Carmen, yes it will take time, and when you least expect it, it will feel like it was only yesterday; although that will bring a tear to your eye, it will also put a smile on your face, knowing that Willie is still so dear to your heart. -

I dreamed of my Riley last night, I always wake up with a smile on my face when I do.

Riley is still around in spirit, no one actually dies, just their bodies. Riley contacted through a dream because it’s easier for souls to get our attention. Riley knows how much you are hurting and that you miss him. He’s just probably trying to tell you he is OK. His spirit is more than likely still around you. Talk to him, tell him what you feel, tell him it’s OK and he can move on to heaven. Souls come back from time to time just to check in with us. You really will never loose him. I know you might think this is all crazy, but trust me it’s not. I’m sure Riley really wants you to be happy.

My best friend is a “cat lady” She rescues strays and finds them homes, she feeds feral strays; she even has a house for them in her back yard to keep them warm. I will certainly recommend the
“Travelling Cat Chronicles” to her-
I think you will both like the book. She could join our community and share information about feral cats – how she gets them, what care she provides, how to get along with them, etc.

That & “I want to be the person my dog thinks I am” plus DOG IS GOD BACKWARDS = OUR DEEP EVER LOVE SAY ALL I KNOW TO BE TRUE. THANK YOU FOR THAT. STILL GRIEVING OVER 1 YEAR. Just remember it’s ok to cry or think of ur beloved fur baby it has a way to help u grow a little everyday when it does happen the memories are there forever you never forget them but it does get easier to live with and the memories are always good

Missing my Riley has brought back memories of my childhood dog Shuba who I miss to this day-
The pain of missing a beloved fur baby never goes away it just takes time & a little easier to live with day by day. I’m sorry for ur loss

Susan, it makes me feel more normal to read how so many of us cry. I don’t cry now for my pets of many years ago – I think of them with tons of love and good memories, but my old girl now is fighting declining health and it’s a heartbreaker. She’s in good spirits and not hurting, but I am….and I wouldn’t trade one minute, So I hope your thoughts of Shuba bring you smiles, too, and that your tears diminish with time, to be replaced with loving memories. It’s very nice of you to reach out to others of us. It means a lot. Toni
