I understand your 2nd thoughts. I had them also when I lost my Gabbers. It took a long time to accept that as much as I miss her she was ready to go. That was the hardest decision of my life.-
Peggy, you what I admire? People who have suffered the loss of a beloved pet, heal, and bring another loving animal into our homes and hearts. The parting can be so devastating, it may want you to say “Never again – I can’t go through that pain”, and that is perfectly legitimate. But for some, at some point, our hearts heal and open again to embrace, enjoy and share life with another beloved faithful friend. The circle and cycle of life keeps moving and we have an opportunity to catch the ride, with furry friends as our part-time partners. Do you think?

It is weird to me because we got Molly after Gabby passed. -

No, Gabby was a Bassett Hound mix and Molly is a shepard. Maybe just girl dog traits. -

I still miss Gabby everyday. I see her traits in one of our other rescues. She was my favorite and is she buried in the cemetery. I never realized how hard it would be to go there. That is a reminder she is gone and that one day her bf Troy will be buried beside her.-
I am sorry, Peggy. It is so very hard. When you see the similarities, is it because they are the same breed?

Wow, that’s interesting. I grew up with a dog and a cat and they had a lot of shared mannerisms, too !
