Cynthia, the pain subsides when it does…when my nine month old kitten, who never went out, decided to go out and was killed by a vehicle, the guilt I felt kept me from healing for a very long time. But, and I mean this, you and I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s hard to express, but it’s as if they made a decision and it went way wrong, but you and I didn’t do it to them. We would have thrown ourselves in front of the truck if we had the choice. We have a wonderful grief counselor available to you if that will help you.
