We lost our little Chelsea this past January. Most of my days my head relives that night over and over again and is plagued by the \”Why didn\’t I do this?\” and \”Why did I do that?\” questions. I know you all understand when I say the grief is overwhelming. There are so many wonderful memories of her sweet quirks and ENDLESS kisses.
My sincerest condolences to everyone who has lost their beloved pet(s).
    • Paula, it is so easy to question our actions, which are led by our best intentions and efforts, yet we wonder what could have been done differently…. I think part of that is because we never want to say goodbye and there is no getting around the fact that our furry babies are only on loan to us, so no matter what we do to help, at some point the time will come for parting. And yes, it IS devastating, the tears come from deep within, little things carry big memories, and it just hurts so much. Please, be kind to yourself when you think of all loving, fun times you gave Chelsea, and that she shared with you. You are very sweet to think of others, and we are certainly thinking of you. Please stay with our community and let us know how you are. Hugs, Toni
      • I understand your 2nd thoughts. I had them also when I lost my Gabbers. It took a long time to accept that as much as I miss her she was ready to go. That was the hardest decision of my life.
          • Peggy, you what I admire? People who have suffered the loss of a beloved pet, heal, and bring another loving animal into our homes and hearts. The parting can be so devastating, it may want you to say “Never again – I can’t go through that pain”, and that is perfectly legitimate. But for some, at some point, our hearts heal and open again to embrace, enjoy and share life with another beloved faithful friend. The circle and cycle of life keeps moving and we have an opportunity to catch the ride, with furry friends as our part-time partners. Do you think?
