Hi Toni: Sorry I haven’t been able to join the chat the last several months, but seems like something always comes up OR I am exhausted. I have a sister with health issues that I’ve needed to spend time with and have had a few myself (nothing too serious). Eddie (the furry buddy I got from the gentleman in assisted living in August) and I are still working on adjustments, but we are doing very well together and I am so glad to have him. Hope to join chat again soon (I always have it on my calendar). Have a great month until the next chat. Sue Finley

      • Sue, thank you for your update. We have very much missed you in our monthly meetings and I am so sorry for your troubles, both yours and your sisters’. Eddie has always been a handful for you and I am delighted you two are adjusting. He’s training you😎You don’t have to wait for the monthly meeting to be in touch – you can always share here with us. I hope you can join in March on the 21st. Here is a {{BIG HUG}} for you all🤗

Hello Everybody: Meet my newest addition to my family, Eddie. Eddie is about 5 years old, a Jack-A-Bee (Jack Russell/Beagle Mix, it is thought), and about 25 pounds, who came to me via my niece, who is a realtor and was having lunch with a co-worker who told her she was getting ready to list a house for a gentleman who was in assisted living and while he was allowed to and did have Eddie with him, he didn\’t feel it was a good situation for him or for Eddie. My niece knew I had been \”looking\” for a new furbaby and here we are.
        • Sue! We are elated for you and Eddie. 🎉Congratulations🎉I hope we have an update from you this Thursday at our meeting. You and Eddie will enjoy many lovely, loving years together, and we are honored to be a part of your journey, and look forward to sharing it with you both💕🤗Toni
          • What a handsome lil pup! Thanks for sharing, Sue!

I send out loving thoughts and HUGS to all who have lost a loving pet. I’ve been there several times, and it still hurts. I am, and have been, looking for a new fur baby since I lost my Jasper April 25, 2021, but just haven’t found the right one yet.

            • You are so nice, Sue, to share your support with us. We’ve added a connection to PetFinders for adoptable animals. Click the tab “Adopt Pets” on the upper right of this page.Maybe you can find a new love there. Let us know what happens and we’ll see you August 17th for an update, and hopefully an introduction to your new baby ! 🤗Toni
              • Sue, thank you for you hugs and loving thoughts to us all. ❤️

I am so sorry to hear this, Toni! I missed the June meeting, so didn’t know of Walter’s passing. It takes so long to get over losing a pet! I am still hurting from the loss of my darling Jasper on April 25, 2022 — and still can’t bring myself to open my heart to another one yet!

Thanks, Toni, for the kind words and the HUG! It was a tough day, but I did look at pictures and remembered the reasons why I took the pictures. That helped a lot!

It\’s been a year today that Jasper went to the Rainbow Bridge. I miss him so very much!
                        • Sue, it’s impossible not to acknowledge the anniversaries of our parting, and I hope you have fond memories of all the birthdays you celebrated together, too. I bet you miss him each day, and hope you are finding more smiles with your memories. Anniversaries are tough and I am thinking of you with sympathy. Here is a {{HUG}} I hope helps a bit. Toni

I’m not going to be able to join the Zoom meeting on February 16. I’m going to the Dayton Art Institute for a special showing of “An American Story of Romantics and Modernists in the West,” to which I have been invited by a friend. I will miss you all, but am looking forward to the outing because I haven’t gone out much since COVID!! Have a great meeting! Sue

You can always call him as “Wonderful Walter” each time you address him. And Yes, what a surprise for you to learn he is 5 years older than you thought. He is a lucky fella to have found you.

Thank you, Toni, for your words of love. Yes, I am grateful that Jasper didn’t suffer long, but it gave me little time to prepare for the loss of him. My 49 year old son died of COVID on December 19, 2021, and Jasper was so much comfort to me at that time, and before I had even begun to recover from the loss of my son, I lost my loving comfort fella. I am working on healing from both losses and am having a very hard time of it. I am trying to remember the good times, happy times, with my son and Jasper. My best friend gave me a plaque after my son’s death that says: “When I Needed A Hand, I Found Your Paw,” which was so fitting for the situation I was in at the time! Jasper’s paw was very much needed comfort and he seemed to know exactly when I needed it! Thank you again, for your loving sentiments.

My beautiful fella Jasper I had to let go on April 25, 2022, and I still hurt and cry for him everyday! He was almost 11 and was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was gone in less than a month after diagnosis. I got him at 3 months from a Dayton, Ohio rescue group, and while he frequently was a challenge and always very mischievous, he was a wonderful and loyal companion.
                                            • Sue, you may cry for a long time, and I hope some of your tears are happy for the wonderful times you enjoyed together. Poor little Jasper, at least he didn’t suffer too long and is at peace now. But you are left behind, empty in his absence, and that hurts unlike any other pain. It takes time to heal and find smiles before tears with your memories. The upcoming holiday season may be tough, and we are here for you. Please let us know how you are doing. Toni
