Oh Kacey, I am so, so sorry. Was Sara declining? In pain? If so, she is now relieved and at peace, even though you were not ready to say goodbye. That is the hardest part of loving – saying goodbye. Our pets are never with us long enough. Never. But we are graced with their company and all the joys we get to share for as long, or as little, as we get. Please think of the many wyas and times you and Sara loved and frolicked, and know she had her best life with you. And Kacey, do join our group meeting Thursday Feb. 16th if you can. Anniversaries stir up lots of emotions, sad and happy. In our group meetings we try to remember the happier anniversaries like birthdays and adoption day. Of course, we remember the day of parting, too. I hope you look to the many happy years you shared. These pictures show what fun Yogee had wih you, and how much love he got from you. Isn’t is awful, Leslie, how empty and quiet the house is? It’s not unusual to “hear” or “see” your beloved Tanner. How did that make you feel – scared, or happy? Something else? Even knowing she was failing and that you helped her find comfort and peace, they are never with us as long as we’d like. I hope you find memories of the many happy times you shared bring you joy and comfort of your own. Please join our group meeting Thursday Feb. 16th to tell us about Tanner. The quiet and emptiness were very hard for me, too. I suspect we all feel that way, especially if we live alone. Can you make some noise in the background, like upbeat music or a fun movie? Can you get out of the house for awhile each day? Have you thought of visiting a shelter where you can be around other animals (it might be too soon for that). Do you have friends and family you can call or visit with? You could write your thoughts and feelings in a journal. Oh Jenn, Princess looks like a princess – what a darling girl. It hurts so much to say goodbye at any age and I hope you find some comfort knowing she is at peace now. I love that – Wonderful Walter! Thanks for the great name, Sue. I like helping older animals even though it often means a shorter time together, and potential health challenges. All animals deserve loving homes and great care and I am fortunate to have this opportunity to be with W.Walter. He’s still pretty timid around others but I’ll try to introduce him at our Zoom meeting the 16th. I hope you will join us. {HUGS}
