    Holding up so far. I miss my baby Beth. Haven\’t brought her home yet.
    • I am glad to hear you are holding up, as long as you aren’t withholdng your feelings, Eugene. The conflict between knowing Beth was failing and helping her find peace, and now living without her beside you, is painful and you are in the right place to express any of your feelings. We sure undertsand. Share with us anytime, and when Beth comes home, we’d like to know how you do. Hopefully that will make you feel better, having her with you. We’re thinking of you. {HUG}

      I had to put my heart Beth to sleep today 3/13/23. She developed cancer which was incurable. In less than 3 months she went from healthy to unable to walk and in severe pain. I had her from the day she was born till now. 13 yes of companionship and love. My is shattered.
      • Eugene, Beth was such a long time, beloved best friend and I am so sorry for your loss. In your head you know you gave her the most generous, selfless gift you could – release and relief. In your heart, you are shattered, at a deep, celllunlar level. It is is going to take you time to eventually be able to recall the many years of joy and love you and Beth shared. May I offer you a thought? The time Beth was unwell, while absolutely the worst, is a smaller percentage of her life, just as it would be for any of us, than the 13 years you enjoyed together. It is so sad that they are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough. It is the part of pet loving that we know, going in, we will one day reckon with. I hope you will allow your fond and fun memories to rise, and that you are kind to yourself. Please Eugene, keep us updated on how you are doing. You have all of our sympathy. Toni
