Joanne, feeling that we could have done more is very natural. I think I tried to do too much for my BG and let her go on too long. She had a seizure that I thought was choking, but when she had the second one, in my lap, it was clear that I should have let her go sooner. It;s okay to second guess yourself, but I hope that you will instead remember all the great things you did for, and with, Mama Cat. I wish, we all do, that we never had to say goodbye but our babies are only “on loan” to us and we can only love them lots while they are here. And no, I don’t think keeping her near you is weird at all. You might look at Memory Vessels as a way to keep her close to you. And Joanne, I hope you will join our group meeting March 20th to talk about our feelings with us. Toni

My sweet Boy Bowser left us February 15. He was my lifeline. I personally trained him to be my PTSD Dog. He would lay on my chest when I would have a PTSD attack, by doing this it would force me to slow down my breathing. My precious sweet boy saved me sooo many times. I just picked his ashes up yesterday, I\’m so incredibly broken 😭💔 it\’s not fair! I want my boy back.
      • Joeyel, I am so sorry💔It does feel unfair that our babies can’t be with us forever, and it’s so painful when we have to say goodbye💔Every living thing will die, every leaf will fall from the tree, and while we acknowledge this in our minds, it’s our hearts that shatter. I hope that you can bring forth memories of the good times you and Boy Bowser were so lucky to share and that you can find some comfort there. Our group of kind, understanding friends meets online tonight at 7 Eastern and I encourage you to join us to talk about Bowser. The link is under the “Events” tab. I hope to see you then, and am sending you my deep sympathy. Toni

My beautiful Echo…she will forever be the light of my life. She crossed over on January 29th and my mom joined her on February 6th. I feel completely lost right now. Losing them both at the same time has left an emptiness that feels overwhelming. I\’d give the world to be able to hug them both and feel whole again.
        • Shadoerae, you have had so much loss of those most dear to you, and in such a short time, it is understandably overwhelming💔I am so very sorry foryour pain, and extreme losses. Do you have family or friends to be with you? Who is the kitty in the picture with Echo? Our pets mourn the loss of their buddy, too, and I hope that yo are comforting each other. Please tell us more about Echo if you would like, and feel welcome to join our online group meeting Thursday February 20th at 7PM Eastern (4PM Pacific) to share more with us. You will find kind, understanding and supportive friends here, and in the meeting. I am sending you {{BIG HUGS}} and my deepest sympathy. Toni

          • I am so very sorry for your loss of Echo and your Mom 💔 💔
            • Thank you very much Tony.
Thankfully, I have an amazing husband who is the best support system I could ask for. Echo was our adventure pup. She loved being out in the woods and exploring new places. Sunday was always Echo day and we’d find different trails and parks to take her to. She was super sweet and loved every person and animal she came across. We found out in November that she had lymphoma. We tried chemo and her remission lasted 6 weeks. When we noticed her breathing change we decided to not let it progress any further. The thought of her suffering terrified me. Heaven at Home came out and she was able to cross over peacefully on her bed. The kitty was actually Echo’s best buddy, Bandit. He was a wild kitten that broke into our house. He instantly made friends with Echo and eventually warmed up to us. He’s been really sad since she’s been gone. He was right there with us when the vet was here. With the final shot his tail poofed up and he rubbed up against her a few times then left. I think he understands what happened in a way. He’s been snuggling with us some at night but spends most of his time sleeping on her bed like he always did. I would love to join a meeting but it won’t be this one. The 20th is my mom’s birthday and we’re going to spend the evening with my dad so he’s not alone. Thank you again for your kind words. ❤️
