Thank you so much for your kindness… Of course I would take in another baby… I have my eye on this poor baby that is 17 years old – came from Louisiana to a shelter in West Chester PA – I have to contact them and see if they allow out of state fosters.. I know no kill shelters do their best and are awesome with all the furbabies.. but it breaks my heart to know she is 17 and best for her to be in a comfortable home… ๐Ÿ™
        • How wonderful of you, Felecia. I hope it works out for you both. Let us know, and if you find out about out of state requirements or other information, please share that with us. I’m pretty sure adoptions are done all the time, but you raise a good question about Fostering out of state…..

            Hi Toni
I meant with the heart worms is these dogs that I adopted and fostered were heart worm positive when Delaware Faithful Friends rescued them from their deplorable conditions lol. They are a no kill shelter. Yes they treated these babies for their heart worms but both had pretty significant damage when they helped them. There is heartworm prevention but the owners would give that to them. These babes were strays

Thank you for your kind words… they were fabulous part of my family. Love them like they were my children. And thank u for this support group xoxoxoxox

              • Felecia, This is a hard story to hear, but it’s not unusual. I think people want to provide the best for their pets, but for any number of reasons, can’t, don’t or won’t. Rescues and shelters are so wonderful, and people like you who adopt from, and support them are more than wonderful..Will you one day invite another faithful friend into your home and heart?

I received a call from Faithful Friends asking if I would foster a heart worm positive Rotti. It was a month after My Fella passed but I wanted to give her the love she deserved. This poor baby had separation anxiety so bad it was sad. When she went for her final treatment as an over night stay, the staff member said she had to sit with her because all she did was cry. She may have thought I left her. I picked her up and brought her back loving her as much as I can. She also passed in 2019. Ughh it never is easy. Broke my heart but I wanted to show her what it is to be loved. I miss Sadie Mae.
                          • Felecia, we see a lot of CHF in dogs talked about here, and it is very helpful of you to post about heart worms. Doctors have preventive meds or treatments for that, don’t they? (There are several shelters, clinics and other providers with the name Faithful Friends, and we interact with them all – but this is not a rescue or hospital – we are an online community for pets and the people who love them. Our “FIND SERVICES” tab will help locate facilities in your area.) Felecia, you are an angel to bring these loving pets into your home, and especially your heart. We know going in they are only “on loan” to us, and it is absolutely devastating when we have to part from them. Your generosity of spirit is not lost on them and they carry a piece of you with them. I am so sorry for your losses, so happy to get to know you. Thank you for being a part of our caring community. Toni

My Fella was adopted from Faithful Friends in 2013. His life prior was horrible leading him to be in congestive heart failure due to heart worms. He passed May 2015. Not only did he have congestive heart failure but also went into kidney failure. My Fella was the best, most kind soul of a dog. He was my life. I am glad that he came into my life and I was able to give him so much love as he did give back to me. It has been almost 6 years and it brings tears to my eyes. When I say I loved my Fella I mean I LOVED him… I love all my animals but there was something really special with him… to this day I miss My Fella ❤️😢🐶
