Hello Pam, and welcome to our kind, understanding community of friends. Is it Lea to whom you said goodbye? I am so sorry💔Knowing that our pets (friends) are only “on loan” to us doesn’t help when we actually part, and it doesn’t matter how long we’ve been together – it is never long enough to have them with us. Pam, will you tell us more about Lea and your life together? How did you meet? What was she like (we love to see pictures)? May I ask what happened ? We are here for you and your famiy.

Suzanne, what a moving and heartfelt tribute to beloved Oliver💔❤️It is so loving and generous of you to help him find relief and release from his suffering. It is also the hardest part of loving our babies – letting them go. The emptiness and hole they leave within our hearts and homes is deep. We know, in our heads, when we meet a new little love that one day we will have to say goodbye, but our hearts are never ready to part. I applaud the strength and kindness you have, and continue to share with these deserving sweethearts, and that you are willing to open your home and heart again. You, Sebastian, Takoda and Oreo will help one another heal, and Oliver will always be a treasured member of your family. Thank you Suzanne, for sharing your touching and inspirational story with our caring community, and for the support and kind understanding that you have shared with others here who have suffered the pain of parting. We are all here for you and want to hear more from, and about, you and how you are all doing. When you welcome your next love, we are excited to share in your joy. 💔Ouch. It hurts like nothing else can, losing a beloved friend like Darla💔I am so very sorry for your pain, Janet. I am also happy for the years of love and fun you and Darla shared, and hope that you can bring forth some of those good memories, and find some comfort knowing Darla had her best life with you. It is a tough reality that our pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough (forever wouldn’t be long enough). Oh Sharon, I am so sorry💔Yes, your heart hurts, and I bet your home feels empty. It is so painful when our beloved is no longer with us. May I ask what happened? Was it unexpected, or did you have a period of watching her begin to decline? I find holding a stuffed animal helps fill the emptiness, and maybe, someday, you will be ready to give another darling a loving home and life. But not now. It’s too harsh and painful. Sharon, please tell us more about Lola, and join our kind, supportive group on Zoom Thursday March 20th at 7PM eastern. It helps to talk and get out your sadness with people who care and understand. Joanne, feeling that we could have done more is very natural. I think I tried to do too much for my BG and let her go on too long. She had a seizure that I thought was choking, but when she had the second one, in my lap, it was clear that I should have let her go sooner. It;s okay to second guess yourself, but I hope that you will instead remember all the great things you did for, and with, Mama Cat. I wish, we all do, that we never had to say goodbye but our babies are only “on loan” to us and we can only love them lots while they are here. And no, I don’t think keeping her near you is weird at all. You might look at Memory Vessels as a way to keep her close to you.
