@doglvr63 Hi Dianna. I am sorry for your losses of Trooper and Kasey. What type of pets were they? Will you tell us about them, please? How are you?

Hi Toni. Trooper and Kasey were my lifesavers after my divorce. I had been unable to have children and truly had noone. Kasey was a beautiful Shetland Sheepdog I bought as a puppy and he was silly and sweet. About 5 years later, I learned about a 3 yr old German Shepherd that had failed the state police academy because he was too docile. I had never owned a large dog so wasn’t sure I was doing the right thing, but it turned out to be the best decision I ever made. He was gentle, fiercely loyal and protective, and Kasey and him became instant buddies. These 2 saw me through some very dark days and their fur soaked up alot of tears. Kasey passed the day after Christmas in 2015 at the age of 14 and Trooper passed in 2017 at the age of 15. I’ve since adopted other dogs, but Kasey and Trooper hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for letting me share a little of my story.

Oh Dianna, that is a very sweet and special story. Thank you for sharing it with us. It illustrates how our pets truly are Faithful friends, stand with, and by, us through times good, bad and otherwise. My cat, Squirt, and I were together for 19 years and went through some major life events together. She was always there for me. It doesn’t mean we don’t love all of our pets, but those who share big, very meaningful, times with us do have a special place in out hearts and memories. I am glad you are in our community and hope you will find some time to lend a caring word to others. Toni
