Hi, thank you for asking about our Ellee. She was a Shih-Tzu, and she died unexpectedly the Friday after Mother’s Day this year….it seems like yesterday. She and my hubby were best friends, and she died in his arms 😢 It’s been kind of a long summer having lots of “firsts” without her. It’s just never easy. She has a sister, Karlee, who just can’t figure out where she is. Both of our girls were puppy mill rescues, and we adore them 🐾❤️

Linda, you and your husband are angels for rescuing those poor little girls. Ellee’s unexpected passing is shocking and didn’t give you, your husband nor Karlee a chance to prepare. Karlee probably smells Ellee’s scent and is puzzled about her whereabouts. When we have a chance to anticipate and prepare for death, our other pets know what’s happening, and saying goodbye at home with them helps them say process, but Karlee didn’t have that experience. I am so sorry and hope you ALL find comfort in one another. In a way, it was nice for Ellee to not have suffered a lingering illness or injury, and dying in her beloved Daddy’s arms had to bring her comfort. Linda, please believe me that I am not trying to ‘sell’ you something, but a very loving gift for your husband would be one of our hand-painted ornaments of Ellee, or our throw with a picture of the two sisters woven into it. I really don’t want to sound ‘salesy’, but either of those would be meaningful memorials for Ellee if you think that would be nice. Of course the best gift is having your love and support, and I am sure he and Karlee are helping lift you. Linda, please let us know how you are coming along, give Karlee a pet from me, and thank you for rescuing pets in need. Here is a HUG for you. Toni
