Heidi, I am heartbroken reading your very touching account of the challenges you and Bear faced💔
You did what you could to help Bear based on the information you and guidance you received. That is all we can do – our best, always from a place of love and concern. Guilt is a part of caring for our beloved babies – did I do too much? Could I have done more? Did I wait too long or was it too sonn?
I hope you can find comfort knowing you did what you thought was best for Bear. If you can, please join our group meeting this Thursday, August 21st at 7PM EST, 4PM Pacific to talk about it with our kind friends. And pleases keep posting here. It can help to share. 💔Jean, it’s only been a few months since you said goodbye to Bradley and it is understandable that you and Sadie are still mourning his loss💔Perhaps you will join our kind group August 21st to talk about Bradley, and Sadie. It can help to share with people who understand. There is no set time for grieving and healing but I do hope that each day is a bit easier for you both.
I don’t know how old you are, but I had neighbors in their 80’s who only adopted senior dogs. Yes, they said goodbye to a n umber of them, but the sweet old pups had a loving last few years. Maybe you could consider that if it would help you, and Sadie. Is Sadie also about 13? If so, she may find a new fur friend stressful.

💔Jeannette, I am so sorry for your loss, and happy for the many years of fun and love you were lucky to share. It’s a shame our sweeties are only “on loan” to, never for long enough (forever wouldn’t be long enough). Are your other two mourning? I bet they are. I hope you all find comfort with one another, and that your memories bring you smiles before tears. 💔😪Oh Suzanne, how heartbreaking. I am sharing tears with you as I write this and want you to know how special you are to care so much for so many loving little lives. It only takes a moment to fall in love, and a lifetime to cherish whatever time we are lucky to share. I adopted Walter when his human died and he was only with me five months. He was 15 and had a fast growing malignant tumor. I loved himdearly and I ache when I remember how sweet and wonderful he was, but, like you and Kalina, he had a loving, safe, comfortable, and I hope somewhat fun, end of life with me. It is good that you know how much better Kalina’s life was in your loving care, and I am glad you wrote such a heartfelt letter to her. Please light as many candles as you like for Kalina and Oliver. Please give Sebastian and the others hugs and pets from me. We are always here for you. I hope to see you again at the monthly meeting August 21st. I am thinking of you with sympathy. Toni -

I am glad to hear that Kalina is feeling better, and that she and Sebastian are warming to each other😊You are so kind to open your home and heart to a senior kitty, and yes, it only takes a moment to fall in love💕I truly hope you can join us Thursday. Jan, two weeks is not long to process the extreme grief, and very real changes in your life💔This is one of the hardest, most painful times of your life and I hope you will go easy on yourself, and take care of yourself. Something that may help you is to write notes to sweet Baebe telling her what she meant to you, how much you will always love and miss her……anything you would like to share with her. And, you might also write a note TO You, From Baebe with what you think she would want you to know. I sincerely hope you will join our online group meeting this Thursday. 💔I am so sorry, Jacque💔Seeing our babies suffer is heartbreaking every moment, and trying to figure out what we can do to help them is a huge challenge. There can be a sense of relief that Sophie is no longer suffering, and peace knowing she has been released from her pain, but there is be a deep grief that she is no longer at your side💔Sophie will always be in your heart and I hope that you will, with time, find smiles before tears with her memories. Oh Suzanne, how heartbreaking. You have purrrfectly expressed how difficult it is to assess what is best for our beloved babies. My vet says “better too early than too late”, but it is often so hard for us to know exactky how they are doing. You are a very kind, caring mom to open your home and heart to so many, and take such good care of them. I’m glad you’re going to the vet with Kalina and will let them guide you in the best path for her, even though it is so painful for you. That is the most loving, selfless act of a pet parent. It takes a minute to fall in love for a lifetime, and it hurts in a way nothing else can to say goodbye. We are here for, and with you, Suzanne. Wow Jen, what a lovely story. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It WAS meant to be – bringing you all together at just the right moment. Aren’t you kind to open your heart and home to Wally❤️And how fortunate to share ten wonderful years. I hope you can bring forth happy memories in your darkest moments, and find a smile before tears in recalling those times. Your pain is real. Your grief is a part of your ongoing love for Wally.
