Cathy, this makes me feel sad – for your loss of Licorice (what a perfect name and what a stunning girl), for your new kitty (to be so skittish), and for you to long for the companionship she is yet to give. I do think she will come around with time and your care – imagine how confused and frightened she is, a new home, a new person, new everything. Will you tell us her name and share her back story, some pictures? You are not alone here and I hope you will let us keep you company, too. Toni

I’m sorry I don’t know how to add a photo to this post. Her name is Poppy. She is a totally 🐈‍⬛ Black cat. She is very sweet. She had been adopted once before I got her but she was returned to the rescue because she would not interact with the owners. I would never do that. She has all the time in the world to adjust. I just miss the very, very close companionship I had with Licorice. I would like to provide that to Poppy. Toni, thank you for your reply.
