Of course you will fall madly in love with whichever he brings you. I wasn’t expecting to have a young boy cat, but do, and couldn’t love him more. It’s an adjustment, going from a calm, old girl to a rambunctious big fellow, but he’s wonderful – at 4 this morning I awakened to a cold nose gently touching my lips. That was special ( of course, he wanted to eat and play, but I choose to think he was giving me lovin’). So do be sure to introduce us to whomever you get to welcome into your home and heart – how exciting!

Oh Cathy, through tears I am writing to let you know how very, very sorry I am. One has to suspect there was something underlying that Trixie was relieved from now, but this is so hard – so young and so sweet. You are so kind to be so grateful for her brief time with you. I know our entire community joins me in sending you our deep and sincere sympathy. I will be thinking of you and hope to hear from you to let us know how you are doing. @youngtoday73 Linda, love is love, and it comes in many packages – cats, dogs, snakes, birds, little furry things and big scaly ones 🙂 The joys we share are inimitable, and the pain of parting is deep. Our community welcomes ALL pets and animal people, and are here to celebrate the good times and share the hard, sad ones. By the way, WHY can\’t you have cats where you live? Here are pictures of my beloved Beauty Girl and my new ( not so litlle) \”monster\” – Boots 🙂

Thank you. Actually, I can have a cat or dog that’s not over 25 lbs. & my 18vyr. old grandson said this longtime friend (a girl) her cat is pregnant & she said he gets the 1st pick. Seeing he already has it in his mind/heart to decide (without my help/opinion); to pick one for me, I did not have the heart to tell him if I wanted a boy or girll. So whichever one he getse I will be so happy/happier to have a new baby in my home. 👍🥰🌈💜❤️

Toni, I am so happy you think of the good parts and times with Colt. Even when it’s the right time to say goodbye, it does indeed leave an emptiness. What a handsome boy Colt was, and how good for you both to find each other. I lost my darling old girl in February, and quite unexpectedly now have a young, healthy, active boy – that has certainly filled the emptiness, and eased my grief. Perhaps one day you’ll want to open your home and heart to another. Please, scroll through the posts here and share you support with others. It really does mean so much to know we care. I look forward to hearing more from you, and about Colt.

Dianne, you are doing what you can for her. I’m not sure why a vet wouldn’t see an older pet – that’s new to me. Let us know what you find out. And let’s hope it’s good news ! We’ll be waiting to hear.

Glenda, it’s so hard to read this because I said goodbye to my girl in February (she was almost 18) and there is such an emptiness after so many wonderful times together. It’s a shame our pets are only “on loan” to us but in your head you know she lived a full life – in you heart there is never enough time together. Do you have other cats with you now? If so, I hope they are helping you, and you are helping them through their grief, too. Bubbles was fortunate to be healthy and not suffering. And you are fortunate to have such a special love. It hurts from a place deep within, and it takes time for the happy memories to supersede the pain of parting, but you will find smiles before tears. It’s cute that she liked vegetables – my dad always said “we like vegetables, why wouldn’t they?”. It’s heartbreaking to come home and not have her there to greet you. – my girl was always there and gave me loving when I came in. That’s a hard blow and I am just so sorry you are going through this. But, we are here for you and want to hear from you soon and often to let us know how you are coming along. (I had a minor surgery this week and couldn’t respond to you sooner, but will now when you next write). Know I am thinking of you. Toni
