I understand. Squirt (I didn’t name her) was with me for 19 years – at that time, half my life, and I think of her so often. Now that I am volunteering at the Dumb Friends League, I am confronted with meeting new animal friends and having to leave them. It’s tough. But, we have to think of the comfort and joy we share. Maybe we are all like leaves – we bloom, flourish, and show and share our splendor as we gracefully make our departures from the all-connecting trees of life. ??

Hi Toni! I really love this website. In my spiritual ministry I am often asked to pray for pets. I love doing it. Next month I will be doing a pet blessing at our Scottsdale Center for Spiritual Living. Our congregants are urged to bring their pets to our service. Afterward, we have a blessing. It’s a wonderful service to provide.
Blessings to you, Toni. While I don’t have a dog at the moment, I plan to invite one in to my life very soon. I will post some pics of my cocker spaniel, Annie.

Passed my home inspection for Denver Dumb Friends League (DDFL) and will now be able to foster. I’ll let you know when that happens and how it is going!!

I am in the process of volunteering to be a Foster Mother with Denver Dumb Friends league. I attended an orientation meeting, followed by an interview, after which a background search will be conducted. Next up is a home inspection followed by two training courses: “Fostering 101” and “Kittens”. I’ll let you know my experiences in attaining the privilege of fostering, and my time with ‘fosters’ as I have them. Any advice you can share with me is very welcome and much appreciated!

“Truffle” is a rescue cat and is less than a year old. She is somewhat shy, and Bella has been a great caretaker in showing her the ropes. While they do play at times, the best part is seeing them sleep near each other, or even eat out of the same food bowl. Bella is a very patient soul.

Truffle is a rescue cat and must be about 8 months old. Bell is a gentle and patient dog who doesn’t growl or bite – even when Truffle walks on Bella. Such a good dog.

I am going to foster pets for the Denver Dumb Friends League – ddfl.org. My orientation training is Sept. 6th. Any tips from others with fostering experience are very welcome and much appreciated 🙂
