• Hi Tony Thanks ya it sure is hard she was such a sweet girl I miss her like crazy she was my side kick sat with me while I had my coffee before heading out to work and as I grabbed my work bag to head out the door I would let her know I would be back as she laid snuggled on her favorite blanket on the love seat and meowed definitely gonna take some time 🙁 😞
        • Theresa, I am having trouble saying what I want to you – I keep trying to write my sentiments, and my own story of loss, but for just now, please know how very much I share the depth of your loss. Maybe in the next day or so we can share more. The good part is we had such a long, lovely, loving time together, right? It still hurts, but in a very grateful, good way…..

@nanfig47 Nannette, welcome. Will you share your stories and phots of Travis and Lizzy with us? What type of pets were they? Did they live with you together? Are you doing okay?

        • They were both dogs I adopted from a humane society I worked for, travis was an 8 week old puppy and passed at 17 lizzy was a year old and passed at 14. It’s been a couple years since lizzy but only a few months since travis. I’m fine now
            • How nice of you to work at a shelter. Do you still? We support non-profit shelters and you are welcome to share their link with us. I am a foster parent for cats that need medical follow up until they are healthy enough to be adopted. Well, I am a “Foster Flunky” because I fell in love with a 13 year old black cat who had all but one tooth extracted and I adopted her. We’ll be together four years in February! She’s doing okay, but has some inflammation and kidney problems we are treating. She’ll be 17 in March.
            • How do you add on animals? I also had 2 cats pass

@robingoff Hi Robin. I see your candle tributes to Brittany, Noel, Bubba and Eugene. How are you doing? Interesting names – how did they get them? Will you share pictures and stories with us? I hope you are okay.

@shrylnana Sheryl – what a stunning image you have for your post. Tigers are so strong, smart, beautiful, important and I worry about them. What can you tell us about Coone and Starlet? Were they tigers? Will you share your stores and photos? Are you doing okay?

              • I have a tiger up cauze they can be gentle giants also. I love wildlife cats. I actually painted that picture. I also have a tiger, panther, cheetah, cougar, wolf, and fox. Coone was my baby. He was a mainecoon. I had him from birth. He was born not breathing and my husband saved him for me. He passed away about 6 months ago from seuzures. I miss him dearly. Starlite was a rescue. She was also mainecoon. She was the biggest lovebug and such a gentle girl you’ve ever seen. She also, passed but without warning. Just never woke up after having her about 6 months. They both have a memorial in my yard. They wasn’t just cats they was both family and my.babies.
                  • Sheryl, wow – I was watching a You Tube about “cats” and dog friendships and my very favorite was this beautiful tiger and teeny puppy who were best friends. I’ll see if I can find it again and post it, but maybe you can look for it – I know you will like it. Maine Coons are cool. They look wild, but are just lovers. It’s so hard to lose them. We know they are only on loan to us and we have to give them up one day, and give them lots of love while they are with us, but it’s so very hard.
So, you are an artist? Will you share some of your works with us? That would be very nice and I’d love to see your work. Please, if you can. share your support with other Faithful Friends community members. We’re here to support one another. I hope to see your art work soon. Hugs.

Oh darn it, Theresa, you made me cry. My Squirt was 19 when she died, too. It’s such a long time of our lives to be together, we go through so much together, I get it…But what a long, loved life she had with you. It may be too soon to feel anything but sad, but what a gift to have had her for so long. I am truly so sorry, and so happy for you both. Please, as the months go by, let us know how you are doing. And, I hope this holiday without her is a celebration of your lives together. I’m thinking of you. Toni

I’m reaching out to our community to ask for advice in your specific situation. We have some veterinary professionals here, and are working to bring a veterinary counsel on board. Please, if you have a doctor for your parakeet, ask them, but Glenn is right – we all, pets and people, grieve. Give Sunny more attention and talk with Sunny about it. They get it. We’ll be back to you when we have more help for you, but in the mean time, if Glenn can help, or your own doctor, please call on them. We’re so sorry for you and Sunshine. Toni

Lisa, I know you don;\’t want to do a Paw’d Cast, but can you or someone in your organization help answer this for one of our members?:
It would be so kind and important and very much appreciated. Toni

Sunny my parakeet just passed away and his mate sunshine keeps calling for him and I don’t know what to do, I want to get her a new mate but I don’t know if that would upset her more or if she would accept him or not. Any advice will help.this is sunshine.

Hmm.. hip surgery is one of the most successful, but with Covid, it’s scary to think of it. If it’s critical, he shouldn’t fear it. I need knee replacements and won’t do that until Covid is better controlled. Let me know what’s going on with that. When did you lose Rikki and Kaci? Do you have pictures to share with us?

Oh, that’s sad and it hasn’t been very long. Do you find the holiday season makes it harder? I do, especially the first year without them. How are you doing ?

@kahoff Hi Kimberly. I had a cat named Nicki and yours was named Nikki. I love that name – how did she get hers? Mine was a calico with some copper color fur and for some reason I thought Nicki suited her. What can you tell us about your Nikki? How are you doing?

Rev. Glenn, how nice to know you are here to help heal. What breed was Annie? Cocker Spaniel? How did she get her name? What helps you feel better when thinking of Annie?

                                      • Spazzy was 10 years old when we lost her. She was a true and faithful companion right up until the end. She even spent her last night laying by my head on my pillow. Oh how I miss that sweet baby girl.
