@bluerose Hi Nicholle. Please tell us about your pets. And, how are you doing?

Hi Deanna. It’s nice to meet you and see your picture. We always love to see pet pictures, too, and look forward to seeing Britches, Max and Ginger. Will you tell us about them, and your lives together? Toni

Hi Katy. How long has it been since you said goodbye to Soldier, and Emmy? What kind of pets were they? How are you doing?

How are you coming along now, Belinda?
          • I am doing ok after being rushed to the er last night. I had lost it when I went to place a rose on the bury site of Peanut.
              • Oh my dog – are you okay now? Did you have a panic attack? Would a call with our grief counsellor help you? How can we help you work through your grief? This is a safe place to seek or lend support and we will do what we can to help you heal, and find a place where you can remember Peanut with joy. Please, let us know…

@kittykat Hello Katy. How are you doing now? Will you tell us about your pets?

              • I had a J.R./dachshund mix female name Lucy. She was my #1 lil girl. She lived to chase squirrels and just run her little legs off. I was living with my (now deceased) boyfriend and his family, and his mom set out rat poison behind the stove and she ate some and a few days later she passed at the vet’s.
                  • Oh, Katy…You have been through so much and I am very sorry. Thank you for sharing your story about how dangerous household items can be to pets. Anti-Freeze is dangerous, possibly deadly, to pets, too. Your story may save other pets and I appreciate your information. When did this happen? How old was Lucy? So, how are you holding up, Katy? How can we help support you?
                      • Lucy passed May of 2015. And the worst thing about it, the mother never told me about it until AFTER Lucy wasn’t feeling good. First day, Lucy wasn’t eating or drinking alot. Second day, she could barely jump off the bed and walk. Third day, she couldn’t jump off the bed, and I put her in her lil stroller and pushed her to the vet, they gave her a potassium shot, kept her over night, and she passed over night. I felt bad cause I wasn’t there during her last moments. But I was hoping the shot would have helped and I would take her home. The good thing is that I got a sympathy card from the vet. Which was nice.
                          • Oh yuck, Katy. I really understand because that’s a similar story about my wonderful dog, Prince. I always think I should have stayed in the clinic with him overnight – the night he died. But you know what? Even some humans decide to die alone. It sounds like you were 100% there for Lucy, and I suspect she knew it. Don’t feel bad – you WERE there for, and with her. It’s clear she knew great love from you. Tell me, how are you doing now? Toni
                              • I’m doing okay. I have another J.R name Bella who I’ve had for about 2 years. She’ll be 9 years old on 4/20.

@suzonne64 Hello Suzonne. B&B – Booger and Buttons. Did they live with you at the same time? What type of pets were they? How are you doing?

                        • Booger, Boston Terrier,13yrs&24days. Was hit n run by unknown driver. It’s been 6yrs,months & 3 days since he went to Rainbow Bridge. Buttons, rat terrier mixed, got her 2014 after booger lost her August 24,2020.
                            • That’s awful, Suzonne. Such a sudden tragedy. That is just terrible. And, it hasn’t been very long since you said goodbye to Buttons so I hope you are doing alright. Let us know.

Oh Dianna, that is a very sweet and special story. Thank you for sharing it with us. It illustrates how our pets truly are Faithful friends, stand with, and by, us through times good, bad and otherwise. My cat, Squirt, and I were together for 19 years and went through some major life events together. She was always there for me. It doesn’t mean we don’t love all of our pets, but those who share big, very meaningful, times with us do have a special place in out hearts and memories. I am glad you are in our community and hope you will find some time to lend a caring word to others. Toni

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this earlier, but I was concerned about you bringing your baby home. We have a Find Services tab, and by entering your zip code and using the drop-down menu to find Rescues & Shelters, you may be able to find a puppy there. Let me know if you need help, and if that helps you. Toni

@sherrilynn Hi Sherri. I am sorry to see Fussy and Fussy Jr. have left you. Was one the parent, the other the child? May we see some pictures of them, please? Are you doing alright?

That is such a good story, Vicki. Most breeds have Rescues that can also be a resource for finding an adoptee. The Find Services tab on our site has Rescues and Shelters that can be located in your are by entering your zip code. Now, will you show us Pixie ( love that name) and your other Chi? ๐Ÿ™‚

@tabbycat Hello Tabetha. I am sorry to hear of your loss of Ladybug. What a nice name – it makes me smile. What type of pet was she? How long has it been? Are you doing okay?

                                  • She was an apricot rescued toy poodle. It’s coming up on a year that I lost her. I still struggle and on a day like today, I wish she was still here and we would go back to traveling in the 18 wheeler.
                                      • Tabetha, anniversaries and holidays, especially the first year, can be brutal with the memories they stir. I hope you will allow yourself to acknowledge and express your grief at this time more than ever. I am sure even little things trigger big emotions and there’s nothing for it but to feel it. I suspect Ladybug would, and does, send you her gratitude for a life of love you shared, and wants you to have smiles before tears when you think of her, and the 18 wheeling fun….We’re here for you not only at this time, but always, and I hope you will touch base often, even if, maybe especially if, you are hurting. I’ll be thinking of you, and hope this {HUG} helps you a little bit. Toni

Vicki, don’t be a tease – tell us about Lily :-). Any pictures we can see? How wonderful for you both.
                                        • I have been looking for another chihuahua as a friend for my little chi I have now. Her name is Pixie. She is also a rescue. I placed an ad in our local classified and someone contacted me that they had a chi they could no longer keep. The rest is history!

Oh, that is so tough – two of them leaving in such a short time. But Good For You adopting another love into your life. Please send us pictures of her and tell us her story when you get settled in with her. That’s so exciting!

Wow, that’s a lot. I had three cats at one time and it worked out great If you have one, why not more, right? What do you do for Mitten’s anemia? What caused that, do you know? I am sorry about Tiffany, Garfield, Snowball and Sparky, but it sounds like they had a loving, wonderful mom in you, Carol. If you would show us some photos of any of your pets, we always enjoy seeing them. And please, share what you can about anemia so we can all be aware. Thank you! Toni

Oh, that’s just fine – before digital photos, it’s hard to share pictures. I am very sorry you lost your Mom. It’s sweet of you to pay remembrance to her dog. Do you have pets now? If so, we have a Celebrate section where you can tell us about them.

                                                  • Both were my dogs. I lost CJ in august and a week ago I lost Blue. Iโ€™m doing ok. Huge void. But Iโ€™m have found a baby and adopting Iโ€™m getting her on Sunday.
