Hi Judith :-).. Are you still in touch with Sweet Pea? It sounds like you very thoughtfully and lovingly made sure she had another loving home. You are very kind and generous to think of Sweet Pea’s best interest. Judith, if you share the sorrow of losing a beloved pet, it would be welcome for you to share your sympathy and support to others in our community. Do let us know how you are doing, please.

Connie, who spoiled who, here :-)? Isn’t it funny how we think one way, and meet a loving faithful friend, and can’t imagine NOT having had them share our lives?
        • ⁶Toni I told my son it was his fault. When he brought him to me Christmas eve Beary Good Boy rode in Ray’s lap from Dallas to San Antonio. But I was doing on line schooling full time for my bachelor’s so in order to give time to this tiny bay boy he laid between my key board and me on my desk. He was actually kennel trained untilled I let a young lady that was a friend of the family move in while her husband was in Iraq. She would bring him up stairs at night and put him in bed with me. So……poof there went the kennel. But I don’t think the kennel was needed once he was house broken. I was the one who spoiled him. He was actually the only dog that only was mine. Growing up and raising the family the dogs were ours. Beary Good Boy was just my baby. I still talk to him. I still tell him it’s bed time and I still see him when I sit down to eat. I’m not sure if I will get another baby again or not. I will be moving soon from California to Texas so if I do it will be after I move. I also have some major health issues so I have to think about that as well. But I have not said no to the idea.
            • Connie, if you are up to taking in another dog, there are a lot in Texas who need foster care while the state recovers from the storm. Let us know what you do…

And Donna, it hasn’t been very long since you and Peanut parted so please, how are you doing? How may we help you grieve and heal? Toni

@pegasus Gabby Reese Mr. Wiggles – Peggy, please tell us about them. You are clearly a pet lover and we are sorry for your losses. How are you doing, Peggy?

                • I still miss Gabby everyday. I see her traits in one of our other rescues. She was my favorite and is she buried in the cemetery. I never realized how hard it would be to go there. That is a reminder she is gone and that one day her bf Troy will be buried beside her.

Oh my dog, Dan – what a face! The ears, the eyes, the attitude… Daisy owns my heart and I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing her. Of course you cried, and I suspect still do from time to time, but the happy memories of the joyful, loving times together support you, don’t they? Please let us know how you are. And Dan, if you want to lend your support to others in our caring community, please do. It really does mean a lot. I cry each time I read the loving tributes our members share. I think we all feel pain for one another. Toni

@jsblack18yahoo-com Judith, hello, and welcome. Please tell us about your pets.

                    • Thank you. How long do you have? lol We’ve had dogs mostly. Our last one was a wonderful little girl, who was chihuahua/terrier mix, named Sweet Pea. We had to rehome her, I have balance issues and kept falling when I walked her. One of the nurses, who worked in the assisted living facility, in which we live, took and gave her a good home. But I miss her dearly. 🥲

Tears for you, Connie….I have tears seeing those big, kind, beautiful eyes. You have to still be in pain, it hasn’t been very long. It’s good to know he is not suffering, and I hope your memories of the wonderful, loving times together are bringing you comfort. Connie, please let us know how you are. Hugs.

Gloria, thank you for sharing the health information about Cocker Spaniels. Sharing that type of information is so helpful and important to our community. I encourage everyone to do the same. My neighbor adopts old Cocker Spaniels and for those who don’t know, most breeds have Rescues dedicated to them. I am sorry for your losses of Mickie and Baxter, but happy you and Teddy are doing well. How old is Teddy now?

                                  • Chloe, Gus and Little Bit are my senior kitties that crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in the last 14 months. They were 15, 12 and 18 years old. Thank you for your kind words.

Kathy, I am sad and sorry for your loss of Zorro. When did this happen? Will you, if and when you feel like it, show us some pictures of your lives together? Tell us some stories about him? It is so very hard to part. We know our beloved pets are only “on loan” to us, and we wouldn’t trade the loving times together, but boy, it sure hurts to say goodbye. Let us know how you are, Kathy, and what we can do for you…
                                      • Hi Toni, I lost Zorro to cancer this past December, just before Christmas. I’ve been through this many times in my life but it never gets easier. I know with time I will be able to look back and just remember him healthy and remember all the good times we shared together. I will post some more pics of him and thank you for caring.
