    @mikey Michael, hello and welcome to our caring community. Please tell us about your pets, and share pictures with us if you like. Are you doing okay?

    Christine, how are you doing now? Do you have someone with you, something to hold and pet?
    • Toni Noel posted a new activity comment 4 years, 5 months ago

      Tamara, how absolutely loving, kind and generous of you to share your home and heart with so many, all the while knowing one day we have to part, and how deeply that hurts. You are very sweet to open your life and heart, to share and care for these darlings. You are a special kind of hero….

        Oh Gail, you have made me cry with your own kind words and I thank you so much for your generous contribution to help keep our community going. I’m doing it alone and need some support to cover costs. Thank you for helping us help others…and now me, as I move through this truly ‘searing’ pain. Here is another {HUG} for you. Something really cool happened tonight: I was sitting on the ottoman in my den where BG and I often sat, and the remote went to “0”. I hadn’t touched it, and have never hit zero before. She often stepped on it and changed the channel so I figure her energy came for a fanny scratch and belly rub. At least, that’s what I’m going with. I really did not touch it. I always say, and I know, intellectually she was so sick and I doubt she would be with me now, and she had a very peaceful passing, but the depth of pain from the emptiness and loss of her company are so deep. You have really touched me and, yes brought tears, but also comfort. Thank you again, Gail.

          Christine, I was sick for a day after, but today is the fifth day and I am better – not purrrrfect, but better. I force myself not to think of her and that helps. I dedicate periods throughout the day to think of her and grieve, then do something to stay busy. We’re here for you so share with us as often as you need.

            Chuck, my most wonderful, sweet, beautiful girl got her wings Thursday and I could really use some pictures and stories about Dixie now if you would share, please. Thank you, Toni {{heartbroken}}

              Christine, I just saw the darling picture of August and am in tears with you. That picture shows so much of her spirit and personality. Will you share it with us here? Do you have someone, animal or human, to be with you tonight? I have a stuffed cat that, I’m not kidding, truly helped me get through the night and these next few days. It may be hard for you to sleep, and hugging someone or something can help. I am just so very sorry…{{HUGS}} Toni

                @christinel Hi Christine. I am so very sorry for your parting from August. Are you doing alright? Would you tell us about August (love that name) and share some photos with us, please. I am sending you {{HUGS}} and a few tears…Toni

                  She really was a beautiful girl – inside too. Every vet tech and doctor (and we had a lot of them) said she was the nicest cat ever. She was truly exceptional and everyone noticed that about her. I know you’ve had your heartbreaks too, Martha. I hope our community helps everyone as much as it is helping me at this time. Thank you for reaching out to me. How are you holding up?

                    Oh Susan ….. thank you. Made me cry, in a good way.

                      Thank you, Tay. I haven’t cried (yet) today, so hopefully it gets easier.

                        Of course you did, Susan. It’s shocking to see him when you weren’t expecting to. I bet whoever posted it meant it kindly, in his memory. I ordered a canvas print of my girl. Probably will get a woven throw, too (they’re really nice). But that’s different from seeing Bugsy when you weren’t prepared. How are you doing now, Susan?

                          OH! I created a memorial for her and just had to include the picture of her getting “catupuncture 🙂

                              Sheryl, thank you. And Jeri, you asked if she was a rescue. Yes – I was a Foster for cats who need medical care and met my beloved when she was 13, having had all but one tooth extracted, and she was very, very sick. That was five years ago We fell truly, deeply in love, she got healthy, happy and energetic. This last year we have been treating her myriad of health challenges. I know it was a relief and release for her to just relax and go for a comfortable sleep. I dread trying to sleep again tonight. But It helps so much to not be alone by having our community here. I am grateful for having her in my life, and for this community of caring people.

                              Randy, how dear of you, and I really appreciate your kind words. You told us so nicely about Ranger and Axel and I hope soon I can do the same about my beloved girl. Just a little too raw tonight, but getting better. Thank you for caring, sharing and understanding, Randy. Give Renzo an extra hug from me tonight. {{HUG}}

                                Brutal, isn\’t this first day without her. Everywhere I look is empty. As I always say, in our heads we know what a kindness it is to give a peaceful passing, but every cell in me is torn apart.
                                This is why we founded this community – to share and find comfort. Thank you for your sympathy and understanding. Toni

                                Everything is so empty. My house, my heart. I have created a memorial for her and your words of support there will be so welcome if you care to. I am just devastated.

                                • Toni, I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers 🙏🙏🙏
                                  • Sorry for your loss Toni. We grow attached so quickly to our pets & when we lose them it is heart breaking. I still grieve for the 2 shepherds I lost in July 2021. I look @ their pics & try to remember good, happy, fun times w/them.

                                          Jeri, thank you again. You say it all beautifully. She\’s at peace now. I will write more soon, but am just bereft and heartbroken right now….
                                          • I’m so sorry, Toni. Thinking about you today. You gave her such a great life over these past few years. 🤍
                                            • I am so to hear! I’m sure she felt the love you provided her every day. You are in my thoughts today.

You, and the rest of this community, were so caring and supportive when I lost my buddy, Rascal in 2020. The pain at first is just searing, and I wondered if I would ever catch my breath again. Thank you and this community for walking through the pain with me. I hope you are doing a little better each day and that you will heal as you continue to help all of us. Please know that you are loved.

                                                    Thank you Jeri. I’m taking her today at noon. Yes, the tears come from deep within, but she deserves a peaceful exit. We’ve been treating her multiple health challenges for over a year but she’s failing and I am sure she is not going to improve. She’s losing weight, has more blood in her stool, is vomiting more…the list goes on. I am grateful for our five years together. Heartbroken to my core. And thankful for your support and understanding.
