Well, that’s too bad, Dianne. What a pain and shame. Why do people do things like that? :-(…Our Facebook address is MYFaithfulfriends so you know. We work very hard here in our website to keep nefarious people and bots out. Keep us posted. And good luck!

Martha, you are so right – I said goodbye to my darling Feb. 24th and this week I got custody of a sweet, smart, big healthy young boy. A friends’ mother is unwell and when she returns home, I may have to give him back, but he’s brought me great joy and company. It’s helping me move through my grief. I thought I wasn’t “ready” for a new love, but I was wrong! I really hope he gets to stay with me, and I’ll keep everyone posted on developments. Did you use our FIND SERVICES tab to locate rescues and shelters in your area? Let us know what happens for you ๐Ÿ™‚ Toni

Oh Susan, I know. I said goodbye to my beloved Beauty Girl three weeks ago tomorrow, and I know the pain that comes from a cellular level….. Buddy was soooo cute, and thank you for sharing his picture. We’d love to see more. I know I have hundreds of my girl and it’s hard to pick just one to express the many moods and expressions and joys…. It helped me so much to hold and pet a stuffed cat my Mother gave me years ago. Perhaps you would find comfort in that. We also provide “Cuddle Clones” – exact replicas of our pets: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/shop/landing/
I swear, the morning after we parted the pain was so intense, I didn’t know how I’d get through it, and the stuffed animal really, truly gave me comfort. I had a photo of her made into a 16″ X 20″ canvas portrait, and that really shows all of her best features, and also brings me joy and comfort: https://www.faithfulfriends.com/shop/pet-poster/
Susan, I am sincerely not trying to ‘sell’ you but sharing with you things that help me. It’s why our caring community exists – to understand and support one another during and through this most terrible of times. I hope knowing we care helps you, and I hope you share more with us. I will be thinking of you with sympathy and am sending you {{HUGS}} Toni

Irene, I’ve been thinking back and am not sure it was widely offered in the ’90’s – being with our pets when they were being let go. Of course we now know how helpful it is to be together at that time, but I really hope you will not feel guilty – it may not have been an option then. We can’t always be with our pets as much as we like – we have obligations and duties (have to work to pay for pet food!) and I suspect our pets do fine when we are away. I am glad you have Kara and Star to keep you company. I know how empty my home has been since my Beauty Girl died two weeks ago, and how much nicer it feels to have the company of Boots now, even if he’s only a temporary resident :-). Irene, please release your guilt. You are obviously a loving, caring pet parent and have had to go through a lot of very tough partings. You deserve a medal, not guilt. What do you think?

Geri, I want you to know how much your thoughtful story is helping me right now. I am living with Boots, the 2 1/2 year old cat of a friends’ mother who is in temporary assisted living. It’s very hard to think of Boots going back to her one day, and your story really helps me know how much she misses him, and he probably her. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your touching history with Syrus and Hex. This is one of the reasons our community is here – to support and celebrate together. I am sending three {{BIG HUGS}}. Toni

Who is this guy, and what is he doing in my house?! The universe works in strange ways: Two weeks, two days after I said goodbye to my beloved Beauty Girl, a friend called and needed a home for this wonderful guy – \”Boots\”. My friends\’ mother was very ill and will be in a care facility until April, so Boots is living with me. Needless to say I am already in love. And, I still grieve my sweetheart. But Boots sure is great company and makes me laugh and smile. OH! He fetches and retrieves the toy I throw – I\’ve never had a cat do that. And he\’s big-15 lbs. whereas my BG was 7lbs, tops. He is a wonderful surprise ๐Ÿ™‚

How nice of you, Dianne. The sympathy and understanding of our community is what makes us work and care together to heal, and remember the loves and joys we were lucky enough to share. I think of Mama Cat (George) often, especially since I said goodbye to my old beloved girl two weeks ago. Always sending you {{HUGS}} Toni

@karastar6 Precious….that’s a wonderful name and describes our loving relationships, Irene. We would love to see pictures of Precious, and hear about your lives together. How are you holding up, Irene?

                        • Precious passed in 1995. He was an angora, the son of my other cat Cinnamon. I had to put both of them down at the same time. The doctor wouldn’t let me stay and say goodbye. I was hysterical. Not 1 day goes by I feel so much guilt for that. I think about them everyday. Along with Jasmine. I lost her in 2010. I feel guilty for her because I wasn’t home enough. She had kidney problems. Precious and Cinnamon had cancer. So everyday is hard for me. Kara the cat I have now since 2013 she was a blessing. With her also have Star. He is so crazy. He was my sister’s cat. When she got sick I took him. He is a pistal. They are my world.
