Oh my …. what happened? When I was young a neighbor shot our dog for no good reason. How can this happen? What a shock for you, Sharon. And Bella – was she older? Please tell us more, and share pictures if you like. I am so sorry for your many losses. Toni -

Oh Elaine, how deep the tears come…my girl died Feb. 24th and I still have tears that just come from within even though I know it was the best for her (she was 18). We wish they could be with us forever, but they are only “on loan” to us. This is going to take time, and we are here for you to share your feelings. I found a stuffed toy I could sleep with and pet was very helpful for me. Cuddle Clones can make one that looks just like Toby, but if you have one around, please give it a try and let me know if it helps. We’re thinking of you with sympathy and understanding. {{HUGS}}

@yellowstone Hello Sharon. I am sorry for your loss of Khazi. What a nice name-does it have a special meaning? Will you tell us about your lives together, share some pictures? How are you doing?

His name c was short fir Kamasi. Thats what he was when he was little. He was a mamas boy. Khazi was killed in his own backyard 1yr. Ago by a cop. Shot 5 times. Misa him terribly. Lost his sister Bella 1 month ago suddenly.

Yes, brighter days ahead, Randy. I said goodbye to my beloved Beauty Girl Feb. 24th and two weeks ago today, a friend called, their mother had taken ill and was not able to be home with her two year old cat, Boots, and would I take him in! He’s twice the size of my girl, has teeth (she only had one), and is a bundle of energy and joy (when he’s not being a monster). I had not intended to bring a new pet home yet, but I can attest that he has helped me through my grief. I try not to think of BG because, even though I know it was the best for her (she was turning 18 and was quite unwell), the pain of loss runs deep and lingers. So of course you still hurt and miss Ranger and Axel, but Renzo is one lucky boy, and I am delighted for you and your family to have new love and fun. Keep us posted. OH! Share some photos of Renzo and the springtime birds and animals and stuff he gets up to 🙂 -

Of course you miss her, Dianne. She will always be a part of your heart and her memories probably bring both terrible tears and pain, and really happy thoughts. Four months isn’t long. I remember when it happened. Are you doing better now, though? Beauty Girl is gone 29 days and I am doing better, and hope you are each day. {HUGS} Toni -

Gloria, BabyBoy was such a cool looking cat, and I know what you mean about ‘being human’ – are we sure we aren’t ‘cat’? Whatever we are, we have deep communication with certain pets and animals, just as we do with some humans. I am so happy you can remember him with smiles even through your tears that come from deep within. I’m so happy my Beauty Girl is out of pain, but the tears and pain of parting are still with me, too. It’s a trade off we wouldn’t change, isn’t it? The many joys and deep shared love in exchange for the searing pain of parting. Gloria, please share more stories about Buddy, and pictures! We love sharing and it helps us all come together in support of one another. Thinking of you {{HUG}} -

It sounds as if Buddy did what you asked and it’s not a day to soon, or late. Excessive vomiting may indicate internal problems, and he seems to be declining, and probably is suffering. The process of passing was so comfortable for my girl, and I know she was relieved of her suffering. We are the ones left behind with the terrible pain of loss, but it’s our obligation to grant the gift of peace as an act of love. So Gloria, those are my thoughts. Whatever you decide, you will act from love and in his best interest. Do let us know, and know we truly feel your pain and understand. I’ll be thinking of you constantly. {{HUGS}} Toni -

Today marks one month since I said goodbye to my Beauty…… What a lovely, loving run we had. She\’s always in my heart and I am lucky to have known her.-

How kind of you, Dana, but you, and everyone in our caring community understanding and sharing are the reasons we exist. I’ve said it before – you are an eloquent and heartfelt writer and your support really means a lot. I was not looking for another lover right now when my friend called and I have ‘Boots’, at least for awhile :-). He has certainly cheered me, warmed my heart, and helped me move through the sadness and grief of losing my Beauty Girl. Pets and other life forms are truly amazing! Ann, I am so sorry. Anniversaries are hard. The memories of fun, loving times, coupled with the deep pain of loss. She was so beautiful and looks like my girl who died February 24th. I am so sorry for your pain. - Load More
