Toni, I am so happy you think of the good parts and times with Colt. Even when it’s the right time to say goodbye, it does indeed leave an emptiness. What a handsome boy Colt was, and how good for you both to find each other. I lost my darling old girl in February, and quite unexpectedly now have a young, healthy, active boy – that has certainly filled the emptiness, and eased my grief. Perhaps one day you’ll want to open your home and heart to another. Please, scroll through the posts here and share you support with others. It really does mean so much to know we care. I look forward to hearing more from you, and about Colt. -

Dianne, you are doing what you can for her. I’m not sure why a vet wouldn’t see an older pet – that’s new to me. Let us know what you find out. And let’s hope it’s good news ! We’ll be waiting to hear. -

Glenda, it’s so hard to read this because I said goodbye to my girl in February (she was almost 18) and there is such an emptiness after so many wonderful times together. It’s a shame our pets are only “on loan” to us but in your head you know she lived a full life – in you heart there is never enough time together. Do you have other cats with you now? If so, I hope they are helping you, and you are helping them through their grief, too. Bubbles was fortunate to be healthy and not suffering. And you are fortunate to have such a special love. It hurts from a place deep within, and it takes time for the happy memories to supersede the pain of parting, but you will find smiles before tears. It’s cute that she liked vegetables – my dad always said “we like vegetables, why wouldn’t they?”. It’s heartbreaking to come home and not have her there to greet you. – my girl was always there and gave me loving when I came in. That’s a hard blow and I am just so sorry you are going through this. But, we are here for you and want to hear from you soon and often to let us know how you are coming along. (I had a minor surgery this week and couldn’t respond to you sooner, but will now when you next write). Know I am thinking of you. Toni -

You cry as much and as long as the tears come, Lori. They are from so deep within they need to come out. You have all had a lot of tremendous loss. If you don’t let out your pain, it will still be in there, so please share it with us (joy shared is joy doubled, grief shared is grief halved), and let Rocky receive and give you his love.
