@pfd1963 Hello Paul, and welcome to our caring community. Your memorial tribute to Alex is lovely, and so very loving. Thank you for sharing your story and photos. We would love to hear more about your lives together, and want to follow along with Chico’s progress. You and your family are kind and generous to rescue and nurture those in need. I am sending you my sympathy, my wish for many smiles with your memories of Alex, and joy in your life with Chico. Toni

Chico is going to see a oncologist at Blue Pearl Animal Hospital on 12 December. Since Chico just had MCT Cancer Removal Surgery on October 4, we went to see what other treatment is available besides having surgery again. So far Chico’s newest MCTs haven’t grown bigger. Any he hasn’t slowed down any. Alex is at The Rainbow Bridge looking out for Chico.
-
Paul, please let us know what you find out about Chico. We’ll be waiting for the results and thinking of you both. Toni

Lori, are we coming up on one year since you and Snickers parted? The holidays are a very hard time, missing our beloved friends. I hope you are remembering the wonderful times you shared with Snickers and recalling the joys. It’s the bad part of loving a pet – the parting, but the great and good times are something we wouldn’t give up, right? Please let us know how you are doing, and share more photos of Snickers – such a darling. I’m sending you {{HUGS}}. Toni -

Lorraine, it’s so good to hear from you again, albeit about such a sad thing – missing Vinnie. I know the holidays, and anniversaries, bring up many fond and fun memories, and that brings up pain from the first time without our beloveds. This is my first holiday season too. But I find a lot of wonderful memories. I think she would want me to be happy for the years we got to share, and remember her with total joy. I think Vinnie would, too, and I hope you and your three other babies celebrate your lives together. I also hope you will share your support with others here in our community who have parted – it means so much, even if it’s just a simple “I’m sorry”. That can make us all feel better, to share with one another. Join our Group Chat this Thursday if you like. An email with the Zoom link will be sent Thursday. And Lorraine, please do stay in touch with us. Sending you {{HUGS}} Toni -

Sandra, Sasha looks a lot like my Prince with whom I grew up. When we met I was six and he was six weeks, and he died when he was sixteen. I still think of him with so much love. And you will always think of Sasha with love, of course, and laugh at the goofy times you shared, but right now it’s only been so short a time, and your heart and home are shattered. I am so very sorry we ever have to say goodbye. What a racket – you fall madly in love with them and share a great, long life that is never enough for us, but they are like leaves that fall too soon. It’s a tough trade-off for the love and joys, and the grief of parting. You know she was fulfilled with her life, and what more can any of us ask, really. Well, we can ask for more time together, but what we really want is for it not to hurt so much. But hurt it does, and heal we will, Sandra, with time and kindness and understanding. We are here for you and I hope you will join our intimate group meeting Nov. 17th at 8 Eastern to share more with us. Thinking of you . ToniFaithful Friends is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Yes Rebecca, you will always miss Seth, but I promise you, with time, your memories will bring you smiles, of course with the profound sense and feeling of loss, but joy in the long, loving lives you shared. I promise. It takes time and you are wise to share with others who understand. You might find comfort in reaching out to others here who are also bereft and would appreciate your kindness and support for their grief. Would you share some images of Seth with us? You just click the photo icon on the lower left of this area and upload. Also, would you find comfort in creating a lasting Memorial with
our caring community? It’s only $10. through 2022, in honor of my own Beauty Girl from whom I sadly parted this February. It makes me feel good to do that, and it might you too.
I am so very sorry for your sadness, pain and grief, Rebecca. I am also glad you found our caring community, and invite you to join our monthly Group Meeting on Zoom Thursday Nov. 17th at 8 PM Eastern, 5 Pacific. (Link below)

@becs888hotmail-comRebecca, is this Seth? What a darling. Please tell us about your lives together. And how are you holding up Rebecca?
-
Seth was a rescue that Small Paws obtained from an Amish puppy mill in Pennsylvania. I adopted Seth, he was four months old. I had Seth for 18 years. We were together every single day. The aftermath of horrendous grief was life threatening for me, I was miserable. My husband was a huge support for me. After a couple of months, I found a group on Facebook, Rainbow Bridge Support Group, they pretty much saved my life and helped me immensely work through some of my grief. I miss beautiful Seth all day every day. It has been a year and a few months. I will probably mourn Seth for the rest of my life.

Glenda, damnit, yes, the pain is so deep, and the emptiness in and around the house is so, so much to bear, but bear it we will because the years of love and joy and life with them is way worth it, do you think? Yes, I know in our heads we know they are “only on loan to us” for too short a time, but by golly, the many heartfelt moments bring such warmth and joy, you wouldn’t have been without them, would you? We are gifted with special pet loves. They are, too. It’s a powerful component to living a full life of love, and sadly, loss, but when we are able and ready, will we open our hearts and homes again? I think so, I hope so. I hope you let yourself remember the wonderful lives you shared, and feel really good about doing that again, Glenda. We are here for, and with you. Talk to and with us, let us be with you as you move through this. I am so sorry and am sending you a {{HUG}}. Toni -

Elaine, a terrible thing happened and you are undoubtedly still traumatized. I can’t imagine you wouldn’t be. We don’t know what happened but we do know most animals kill quickly – it’s not a game for them like a cat playing with a mouse. It’s tough to have domestic pets when there are predators around. I lost a dearly beloved cat that way. It’s just horrific. I hope you find solace with Jesse – he needs you, too. The holidays stir deep emotions, too, so stay with us and feel safe sharing your feelings. We understand and care, and are here for you. Join our group meeting Nov. 17th at 8 PM Eastern – you’ll find kind, caring friends there. I am so, so sorry, Elaine. Toni -

I’m so sorry, Sally. Seventeen years is a long life and in our heads we know that, but in our hearts there is never enough time together. It hurts. I hope you find joy in your memories. Please share your story of life together and let us know how you are doing. Toni -

It’s next to impossible not to feel guilty for for acts small and large that we think we could have done, but in reality, we always act in the best interest of our pets. In retrospect, maybe something could have been different, but you never did anything that wasn’t best for Mindy at the time, based on the information you had. Is that right, Liz? And the most important thing you ever did, or could do, was share your home and heart, and care for and about each other. There is no flawless relationship in life. Please make a list of the things you feel guilty about and one by one, recall the circumstances and I bet you will find that you made the best choices.
I am greedy – I want my pets with me forever, but they are only on loan to us and I have to cherish the endless fun and love, grieve the emptiness of parting, and then honor our lives together by finding smiles before tears with her memory. I know you will one day, but this is just a devastating time and it hurts at a cellular level. It’s not easy and we understand. We’re right here for and with you so feel safe sharing with us. I hope this {{HUG}} helps. Toni -

Mindy. What a Darling. So much personality, and those expressions! Liz Michelle, Thank you for sharing Mindy with us. Seeing her pictures I feel a tiny bit of your lives together. Thank You. So many emotions and thoughts come into play when we part from a beloved friend. The years of total joy and love that we would never give up, and the total devastation of saying goodbye. In our heads we know one day we will part, but in our hearts we are never ready. I am so, so very sorry. How did you and Mindy meet? How long were you together? When did you part? How are you holding up? I hope my {{HUG}} carries the sincere sympathy I am sending. Toni -
