I’m not going to be able to join the Zoom meeting on February 16. I’m going to the Dayton Art Institute for a special showing of “An American Story of Romantics and Modernists in the West,” to which I have been invited by a friend. My least favorite part of loving – seeing them in pain, and declining. It doesn’t really ease the pain of parting but it does give a sense of relief and release to know their suffering has ended.Here is the link to the group meeting Thursday. We look forward to meeting you and hearing about Sara.

Jaye, what a powerful, loving tribute to Nugget you have shared with us. What a gorgeous baby. We can all feel your pain of parting and share it with you. Being at the end of your bed really tugs at my heart. Jaye, this is never easy – loving so deeply. Well, the loving is easy, it’s the parting that is brutal. No matter how long we get to be with them, it’s never long enough. They are only “on loan” to us for too brief a period and we are much changed when we have to say goodbye. But, Jaye, think of the wonderful life Nugget had with you. Oh my goodness, how could Nugget ask for more? I hope you allow tourself to remember the tons of loving and good times you and Nugget had. And I hope you find yourself smiling with those memories. Please join our caring group meeting Thrsday Feb. 16th. The details will be in an email next week. You were a wonderful friend to Nugget. Oh Kacey, I am so, so sorry. Was Sara declining? In pain? If so, she is now relieved and at peace, even though you were not ready to say goodbye. That is the hardest part of loving – saying goodbye. Our pets are never with us long enough. Never. But we are graced with their company and all the joys we get to share for as long, or as little, as we get. Please think of the many wyas and times you and Sara loved and frolicked, and know she had her best life with you. And Kacey, do join our group meeting Thursday Feb. 16th if you can. Anniversaries stir up lots of emotions, sad and happy. In our group meetings we try to remember the happier anniversaries like birthdays and adoption day. Of course, we remember the day of parting, too. I hope you look to the many happy years you shared. These pictures show what fun Yogee had wih you, and how much love he got from you. We never have enough time with them but I hope you find comfort knowing you shared a wonderful life. {HUGS} Toni -
