Scooter, Bubba and Buddy – what little darlings, Linda. Aren’t you fortunate to have shared their lives? And how loving and kind of you to care for them, give them your love and know they lived their best lives. It’s a shame they are never with us long enough (forever wouldn’t be long enough), but what a gift to treasure the time we are allotted together. Thank you for sharing with us, and please share your own condolences with others in our caring community who are grieving the loss of their beloveds. And, please celebrate with us if or when you open your home and heart to others. I am sending you {{HUGS}} Toni

Oh no, Linda. Oh no. I am so, so very sorry. Sudden and tragic death is shocking and extreme. I had a 9 month kitten hit and killed and understand. We’re here for you with sympathy. Toni -

Good news about darling little Walter. Two weeks ago I had an appointment to let him go but he started acting better and I canceled. He’s eating, playing and his stool is normal. So far, so good :-). He does have an internal mass but now I’m wondering if it’s benign and not growing as fast as it was. We’re day-to-day but right now he’s good. I like to share happy news, too. Toni🤗

You are so kind and thoughtful, Martha. I really appreciate that. I am delighted, and quite surprised that Walter is doing okay. It’s really tough knowing he has the mass, and I watch him like a hawk for signs he is in distress, but he’s playing a little with me, sleeping A LOT, eating and doing okay. What a surprise and gift. Oh Pam, it IS a heartbreak like no other, isn’t it? It was a love like no other, too. What a wonderful time you and Thumper shared, and how many sweet memories you made together. While we know in our heads one day we will have to say goodbye, in our hearts we are never ready. The shame is our pets are only on loan to us, never for long enough. I hope you know Thumper lived his best life because of you, and I hope that you can find smiles before tears with your memories. {{HUGS}} Toni -

How handsome Nanuq was, Star. And how lucky he was to be loved so well by you. And you by him. The incredible pain and sadness come from the immense love and joy you shared. As Maureen says so well, Nanuq would wish you happiness in your memories of the wonderful times you shared. But it hurts like few other things can, and I, we, are here for you to talk with us. Chris, I am so sorry. And I thank you for sharing this important information so we can all be aware of signs of trouble. We don’t get to choose how long our pets are with us, we only get to love on, and with, them for the time we are granted, which is never long enough, and we will love them forever. Michelle, I am so sorry. It hasn’t been long since Annie said goodbye. This is such a painful time and we understand. Please tell us about Annie. What kind of pet was she? How did you meet? LaRonda, I am so very sorry. Yes it hurts unlike any other pain – they are a part of our souls indeed. I hope you will allow yourself to think of what you saved Harry from and find comfort knowing he had the best life with you. Harry would want you to be happy for the years you shared, do you think? I’m sure he was happy and grateful for your love and care. If there is a downside to loving pets it is that they aren’t with us long enough, no matter how long it is. That’s something we take on when we take in a beloved dear friend. Please join our group meeting Thursday May 18th to talk about Harry. It can help. Oh my goodness, Alison, what a handsome boy. I am so sorry. Our pets are only on loan to us, never for lng enough, and although fourteen years is a long lifespan for Louie, it’s all to short for you. I truly am sorry. What breed/s was Louie? What did you do together? I hope your memories of the good times you shared bring you joy, and that you find smiles before tears with his memory.
