Mason was a 10 year old American Bulldog who was sheer perfection, never gave a single problem except the occasional eye roll. He was perfectly healthy until the end of March where he started slowing down and not eating as much, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer that had spread to his pancreas the end of April and he let me know on mother’s day he was ready. Monday May 15th Madon was set free of cancer and took a huge piece if my heart over that rainbow bridge. By far one of the hardest weeks of my life without my perfect boy by my side. We were inseparable and I am lost without him.

Ashley, I am so sorry. Mason was your dear, beloved best friend and your generosity and love in letting him find peace and comfort is a testament to your love and selflessness. And strength. It takes strength to love so deeply and let go, thinking only of what was best for Mason. But it hurts and I hope you can find some comfort knowing Mason had a wonderful life with you. Our pets are only on loan to us, never for long enough. If you can, please think of the many fun and loving times you were lucky to share – I hope you find joy with those memories. Please let us know how you are doing, Ashley, and join us June 15th to talk aout your life with Mason. Here is a {HUG} for you. Toni

Ashley, I am sorry for your loss of Mason. 😞 It sounds like he was such a good boy. I know this horrible pain you are going through, in fact, all of us here do and I want you to know that you are not alone.

Oh My Dawg, Kat 🙂 What a little darling she is. And so many toys to destroy – Good Mom! No, Bailie is not a ‘replacement’ for Pooh, no one ever would be. Nor should she be. Bailie has her own life to live and share with you, and you have more love and joy to give her. Pooh would be so happy for you both. May I share my story with you? After losing my beloved BG last year I was not at all interested in meeting another. But, Boots needed a home and of course I took him in (if I can keep one out of a shelter, I will). Well, as bereft as I was, I didn’t have time (nor the desire) to feel miserable anymore. It was a lesson for me – that as broken as my heart was, it was patched up and mended by having a new love enter it. I never forget my BG, and sometimes still shed a few tears, but mostly I am grateful and happy for the times we we shared. I hope that is true for you and your new baby Bailie. Please, you must send us pictures and updates about her. And please feel welcome to continue to share with us about how you are doing. Join us Thursday to talk about Pooh, and Bailie. Toni

WE ‘get’ why, Maureen. You lost a dear, beloved family member. And you are not “venting” – you are sharing your deepest pain with our community of people who understand and care. Can you join our group meeting Thursday at 7 EST? I think it will help you to meet others and share with us. If not, please keep sharing here. As you remember Romeo, can you think some happy times and fun or funny things he did, that you did together? Don’t let those good, loving times disappear. What a lovely, loving person you are, Brandy, to save Bella and share such a close and caring life with her. Now is the very hard part of deep love – deep pain, and I am truly sorry for that. Even though in our heads we know one day we will have to say goodbye, the actuality of that hurts like no other. I think it will be good for you to join our Group Meeting this Thursday.
