@blanchepadgett Hello Blanche. I see your tribute to Angel and am sorry for your loss. What type of pet was Angel? How are you holding up?

Did you sleep well, Ellen? Do your pets sleep with you? Wake you up in the morning? My cat sleeps tucked under my chin :-). She sleeps much more soundly than I do, too!

Howdy, Janet :-). Welcome to our caring community. Please tell us about Lucas and Tristan. We love to see pictures if you have some to share. And, how are you doing?

Hi Sandra. Is this Monk or Tipper? Someone else? What a beauty. Special breed? Please tell us more….

Connie, a wheelchair sounds like a good solution. Please let us know if you get one and how he does with it – it should work well for him. It’s hard, isn’t it…when they have problems and are so stoic. You may have seen me write that my girl, who will turn 17 this month, is being treated for a number of ailments but seems to be ‘feline’ fine :-). I’m the wreck about it… Keep us posted, and Good Luck Tank! Hang in there!
            • Hello,
As you read from my last post we have lost Tank but from what I have seen the wheelchairs help leaps and bounds. Prayers to your furbabies and this is when I have a good chat and look them in the eyes; you have been together long enough signs are their. Hugs to you both.
                • Thank you for the update, Connie. I’ve been wondering about Tank and am sorry he said goodbye. But, you are right – there is a time when the kindest, most generous act of love is to let them go. I am convinced they know, too, and are grateful for the release. Still, it’s a very sad time and we are here for you. Please let us know how you are coming along.

Sylvia, I can understand you must be lonesome for you family. I hope you are not unwell. If you want, you can extend your sympathies and comments to our friends here in the community. It’s helpful to hear from others who understand and might be some good company for you, too. I am sending you my best wishes and hope to see you here more. Hugs, Toni

That’s quite a story, and an important and sweet one. It must be scary and disorienting for an animal to go from an indifferent place to a loving home, and fully equipped with an older dog to play with. Is your ten year old energized by Finn? Do you have pictures of them playing? Good for you giving Finn a new perspective and safe place to live. Keep us updated ๐Ÿ™‚

@michelleleboeuf Hello Michelle, I am sorry about Tigger. Was Tigger a cat? Will you tell us about your lives together, and let us know how you are doing.

Susan, do I count eighteen furry friends here? Wow – how wonderful of you and for them! So many different kinds…I’m a sucker for pets in sunglasses :-). Tell us more, please, and keep lovin’ and huggin’ those babies!
                      • LOL No, I can’t afford that many. That girl in the sunglasses was my neighbors’ dog, as well as the brown bully, but we loved them as our own. A man shot the brown bully and someone stole the baby in the sunglasses. The Chorkie and the white bully are my granddoggies. The big yellow terrier recently passed away due to cancer. The black and white kitty befriended us when he was a very young boy that had been shot. $232 later, we had an indoor kitty. He also recently passed from seizures. The gray kitty was also a homeless baby that wanted to be loved. She now rules the house. The two black dogs are my constant companions. I adore all animals.
                          • You are the BEST, Susan, to love and care for so many, and all, animals. My first dog, Moses, when I was six years old, was shot by a stupid neighbor and poor Moses died. What is wrong with people?!! Some of our other community members have had animals shot or stolen and it just saddens me, and stuns me. Animals are waaaay better than many people. I just read a book you might like ” The Travelling Cat Chronicles” by Hiro Arikawa. Let me know if you read it. And please, send pictures of your gray kitty “The Queen” of the house and your others, neighbors’ included :-). I am so glad to have you here. Toni

Sylvia, Is this Princess Mariposa? She’s darling. It’s so hard to say good bye, isn’t it? When you like, please tell us more about your lives together. I hope you are doing okay – it takes awhile to find smile before tears.
                              • Yes it is my baby, she was my whole heart and the last of my family. I am just waiting to go be with her and my daughter in heaven or where ever they are. Very soon💗

Connie, since you just lost his mother, Lei-D-Bug, is there something about this breed that happened to Ranger and Lei-D Bug? What breed/s are they? Thinking of you…..
                                  • Toni Noel posted a new activity comment 5 years, 5 months ago

Oh my goodness, Connie – What a terrible shock for you. You made the hardest, kindest choice for Lei-D-Bug but how terribly sad. I am so very sorry. Were there symptoms?
                                      • We knew she had a heart murmur since a pup. I was sitting with her the night before and I’m the vet at home so I get a feeling or sense from my furbabies. Her eyes, her quietness and she’s bubbly; we stayed with and talked to her and we miss her and Ranger everyday he was one of her pups.

Those ears! Gail, send us pictures from his birthday party !! He looks very smart – what’s he like?
                                            • He is remarkable. We adopted him from a nearby shelter on Dec. 31, 2020. We were told that he and his siblings came from a hoarding situation in CA , and he had never had contact with people He was so frightened we were advised to keep a small leash on him at all times because he was a runner. We brought him home to our other 10 year old dog and they bonded quickly! We made sure he had safe place in our living room and let him go at his own speed. He finally warmed up to us and he is now a fun little maniac who wants to play constantly!

Susan, it makes me feel more normal to read how so many of us cry. I don’t cry now for my pets of many years ago – I think of them with tons of love and good memories, but my old girl now is fighting declining health and it’s a heartbreaker. She’s in good spirits and not hurting, but I am….and I wouldn’t trade one minute, So I hope your thoughts of Shuba bring you smiles, too, and that your tears diminish with time, to be replaced with loving memories. It’s very nice of you to reach out to others of us. It means a lot. Toni

Lori, as we see from so many of our bereaved friends here, time isn’t really important when it comes to grieving, and even when the really hard part eases, we still miss them. And tears pop up at the smallest thing that brings the memories. So, you can cry with us, and smile about the good times, too. Please, let us know how you are.
