Kristi, of course – a Yorkshire Terrier – I see it now. Our time together is never enough, but how fortunate for you both to have so much time together. It hurts so much, but there is also a deep splendor from sharing life with them, isn’t there? -

Adele, Baby was with you, physically, for a generous amount of time, as dog years go, and we know our beloved pets are only on loan to us, but yes, Baby is always alive within you, your heart, your thoughts and memories. It’s definitely not the same, and not enough, but it is a gift of the life long love you share. I say cry, sob, scream as much as you need for as long as it takes, and one day, you will find yourself smiling, laughing with her memories. That is a gift back to Baby – that she gives you ongoing joy and love. You’re not there yet, but you will be one day, Adele. And that is a true tribute to your life with Baby. To carry her sweetness and joy and love …. I am sending you a HUG….please, be kind to yourself and let us know how you are, Adele. And, please keep sharing your understanding with others in our community who need support – it’s very meaningful.. -

Hello Kristi. Is this Nemo? What a darling. What kind of dog was he? How long were you together? Thank you for sharing his picture – I feel so much when I see them. Are you doing okay, Kristi?-
Hi..He was a Yorkshire terrier. We were together from July of 2007 to Mar. 23 of this year. He was the love of my life and my best friend. My heart is so broken without him but I will be ok. Thank you

I am so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through. Try to remember all of the wonderful memories you had with him. I lost my precious beagle Baby almost a week ago. It is going to be hard for awhile.

Roseanne, You experienced two serious and dramatic events, so it’s no wonder you are still reeling from the loss of Mia. Also, there is no timeline on grieving or healing, and even as you do heal, you still carry the love and spirit of Mia. You always will. Finding joy in the memories is a wonderful tribute to the lives and love shared with our beloved pets. They certainly wouldn’t want us to be miserable – they want us to carry the joy and love we shared. Roseanne, it is super strong of you to lend your kind words of understanding and support to others in our community. It is powerfully healing to know others understand. We all need one another to know we’re not crazy because we cry and grieve. You stay with us, Roseanne, and we’ll be right here for you. Here’s a HUG….Toni -

Jill, there is no timeline for grieving and healing. We understand how deep the pain is and, like a wound, the deeper the cut the longer the healing. We have a grief counselor you can contact if you like, and a book about grief in our shop if you think either of those would be helpful. Let me know, and stay with us and let us know how you are. It’s very kind of you to share your support with others. -

How nice of you share your sympathies, Michael. That means a lot. I notice the smallest things trigger deep feelings, just as you say – the grass, walks, etc. Seeing the pet food aisle affects me. You take Dixie with you in your heart when you walk, and I hope you lay down in the cool grass, too. Stay in touch. Toni -

Adele, You dear sweet Baby lover, I am so sorry, and feel an understanding of your pain – It is just devastating on such a sincere, certain, deep level of our souls to have our beloved friend leave us. It’s visceral – a cellular level of connection, isn’t it? And while that connection will always live on, not having them with us is such a void. You are very kind to lend your words of understanding and support to others in our community who are similarly suffering, and that means so very much. Hopefully, it helps you to share your grief, too. I truly believe Joy shared is joy doubled – but Grief shared is grief halved – and that is why we are here – to be a safe, kind, understanding place for you to share that with us. Please let us know how you are coming along. Hugs…. -

Please, stay with us and if you like, share your stories about Watson, and lend your support and sympathy to others in our community who really appreciate knowing we are not alone in our grief. Thinking of you with HUGS -

I’m sorry you only had four years together – I’ve been with mine just over four years and couldn’t love her more, so I understand. Weren’t you both lucky to have each other. But it is such a deep sorrow to lose them. I am very sorry, Kelly, and hope you will find smiles before tears soon. Please stay with us and let us know how you are. - Load More
