It’s nice, and I know how important a memorial is, Dianne. It can really help heal. Just click the “Memorials” tab at the top of this page. We have to charge a very nominal fee of $29./year to help offset our cost. You may share anything you want about Bessie, as many photos as you like, and keep adding as often as you want. Thank you for sharing your sympathy and support, Dianne. Our community doesn’t work without, well, our community members. We recently opened our memorials area and I wonder if a memorial to Bessie would be a healing place for you to keep her memories, that you can visit and update, and know it’s always there for you. I’ll be writing more about the healing help memorials can provide, but one major benefit is to have a place just for Bessie so you can open your heart to more joys and loves. You are so kind to care for and about others who are hurting. That means so much. I’m happy to hear from you, Dianne.-

HELLO TONI, I’M STILL HERE IN GA FOR 1 MORE WEEK AND THE LONGER I STAY THE MORE I FALL MORE IN LOVE WITH RUDY AND ROXANNE I MEAN ROXANNE IS BY MY SIDE 24/7 UNTIL I HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE AND THEN SHE WILL SIT ON THE BED AND WAIT FOR ME TO GET BACK SO I’M TAKING LOTS OF PICTURES

Elaina, we welcome you to our caring community of pets lovers, most of whom have experienced the deep pain of parting from our beloved pet. It is so kind of our members to extend their own sympathy and understanding – it helps us to know we’re not alone, someone really understands, and cares. Thank you Shannon, for reaching out. Elaina, was Holly a cat by any chance? My 17 year old has compromised kidneys (among other problems) and I think it is a common ailment in cats. Perhaps dogs too? Would you like to share some of your photographic memories with us? Mourning takes as much time as it takes- there is no time frame, but hopefully your smiles will come before tears and your sweet, fun memories will bring you comfort, and much joy for the life you shared. Stay with us, Elaina, and let us know how your are dong.-
Yep. Holly was a cat. She had the most beautiful eyes. I remember the day after I put her down, it was such a painful day for me. I couldn’t believe she was just gone, just like that. I couldn’t walk around my apartment. I just couldn’t. I just laid in bed all day crying for her. Weeks to follow. It was such an emptiness, a silence. The silence was venue loud because it was a reminder she was no longer here with me. I have tons of pics of her. She was my heart.

Brenda, I am glad you are here with us. I am so very sorry. But, while sympathy can help let you know someone cares, it may not lift the grief. When grief has engulfed you, you are in it’s control. Hence your feeling of “exisitng” rather than living. If you can create a memorial, you can place your memories of the lives you shared in it – all the happy and sad times – and know it is always there for you to comeback to. A memorial can be a box of favorite items, a place in your home or yard, we have a special area for memorials here in our community. No matter how you memorialize, it helps to give your grief a home away from you. This is not a replacement of your memories. You will always remember him, but it can open the door for you to allow joy and love back into your life. If you feel guilty thinking of being happy, ask yourself this: If the roles were reversed, wouldn’t you want him to enjoy the rest of the life he has ahead? I’ve written a poem I hope lends you some comfort that I will share, but want you to stay in touch with us, Brenda. We really do care. -

Jill, You should post a tribute on our Memorials area. That gives you a dedicated place to add your memories and thoughts as they come up to free space for Bella and the happier things in your life. It’s like a “worry box” where you store concerns and can visit when you choose, only it is a celebration, too. Pictures are easy – even I can do it and I’m not terribly good at that kind of thing: there is a camera icon that says photo in the lower left of the “Comment” box. You simply click that and select your photos from your files. Let me know if you need help with it. Or anything else. -

It’s actually Cassandra Josephine went by Cassie Jo. She was a toy poodle. Peanut was a chihuahua. I wish I had pictures of them unfortunately I don’t. How do I add other pets I’ve lost? Thank you.
