This must be Lily? Your picture brings tears to my eyes, and my heart. Was she ill? You all look so embraced by love – happy, and even calm… it must have been both loving, and terribly sad. I am so, so very sorry for your parting. When you are up to it, please, will you tell us more about your lives with little Lily? I send you my sincere sympathy, and hope your joy from the times you shared will carry you through this most difficult of times. -

Oh, what a sweet picture of you two, Brandy. Thank you for sharing your story with us – it’s quite touching and I certainly understand the void Indy has left in your home, and heart. It hasn’t been very long since you parted and it takes time to find smiles before tears with his memories. We’re here for you, to listen and send you our understanding and support. i hope this {HUG} helps. Please let us know how you are doing, and how we might help. Toni -

Erica, Thank you for your kind words and support. That means very much to us, and what we are doing to help support our community of pet lovers. I applaud you for speaking with a counsellor – the grief of pet loss is deep, and different from other types of pain. Please let us know your progress. The book/journal: Griffin’s Heart (in our shop) may also be soothing and help you. You can listen to my “Paw’d Cast” with the author by clicking the purple ‘microphone’ icon in the upper right of this page. When you are up to it, if you would like to, please share some pictures of your Little Bear with us, and tell us about your lives together. I am sending you my sympathy and best wishes. Toni -

Thanks. It’s up and down. I’m speaking with a pet grief counselor today. I miss my Little Bear a whole lot. This is a great site and I’ve shared it with family and also social media support groups.

Susan, Thank you again. I would add:
My dog pets my soul more than I pet my dog (I’m working on that ratio, but can never keep up)
My dog is smarter – at least more understanding – than most people I know. In fact, the more I know people, the better I like my dog 🙂I’d love to hear more from others in our community.
Susan, I hope you and yours are well. We LOVE your posts.

@carla Hi Carla. Please tell us about your pets, and let us know how you are.

Miracle was a 15 yr old domestic shorthaired tiger cat
I had him since he was 2 months old he was my best friend and my baby i loved him so much and i miss him very much .im not okay he helped me to get through everyday struggles and i feel very lost because 5 years ago i loss my husband now this year my other nest friend.-
Carla, you HAVE been through a lot of loss and it’s understandable that you are not doing okay. If you like, we have a wonderful counsellor about grief – Glenn Swain of Heartfelt Farewells – who works with some of our community. It may be helpful for you to contact him. (Click ‘Our Friends’ at the bottom of this page to get to his information). I really understand how you and Miracle were connected. You went through so many good, great, and really terrible times together. Was he ill? Was dying a relief and release for him? If so, that’s one of the hardest, yet best, ways to say goodbye – knowing Miracle is not suffering. Whatever the reason for his passing, you are now suffering the emptiness of your home and heart, and that is so very painful. You need time, and support from those of us who truly understand the depth of your grief, to move forward. Little things – everything – carries a memory, and you should allow yourself the kindness to feel both the pain, and the joy those memories bring, knowing you would not have lived without the love, even though the pain is so hard. Talk to Glenn, and to us, and let us know how you are coming along. I will be thinking of you, and along with everyone here, sending you heartfelt sympathy. Here is a {HUG} for you.

OH! Carla, may we see a picture, or pictures of Miracle?

What a lovely story, Crystal. Thank you for sharing this. I know it’s terribly painful and sad to say goodbye, but the years of joy and love are so fulfilling. What a gift Dipstick shared with you, to pass away on his own. That’s something we all wish for – to go peacefully in our own time. I am so sorry, and hope you are finding happiness in your memories. Stay in touch with us, and if you read a post that touches you, please extend your own sympathies and understanding with others in our community. -

Crystal, Dipstick was so handsome and sweet looking. You were together a long time (how long?) and it is devastating to say goodbye. I am so sorry for your parting and hope you find smiles before tears with his memories.-
He was with me for 17 years. He was and always will be a part of me. His health was declining so fast that I made the decision to do what was best for him and have him put to sleep. His appointment was on September 23rd at 1pm. But when I woke up the morning of the 23rd he had already crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I believe in my heart that he didn’t want to die in a strange place, he wanted to die at home. I had him cremated that way he would still be at home with me.

Oh, what a sweetie. This really touches me, Vicki, because my cat has kidney failure (among other things) and we’ve been treating her but she’s losing weight now. Thank you for sharing Darla’s story. It helps when we share information. I am so sorry. Will you tell us more about your life with Darla -how you met, how long you were together….anything you want. We’re here. I’m sending you {HUGS} -
