Karon, Thank you for sharing your touching and inspirational story. You have touched a lot of hearts and I appreciate the time you gave to tell us about Serenity and Einstein. Yes, our animals grieve alongside us and we support each other through those terribly painful times. This is why we are here – to listen to stories about life with our beloved pets, and to support one another as we mourn, and recover. Please continue to share with us, and give Einstein some good lovin’ from me 😻🤗💕. We’ll be waiting to hear from you. {{HUGS}} Toni

Oh Julie, Max is still within your heart and it hasn’t been very long for you to live without his presence in your home. It’s undertandable, and truly okay for you to feel the pains you do, and to cry. In fact, crying is good for you, to get rid of the sad toxins created by grief. So Julie, may I offer a way to navigate through this terribly hurtful time? Can you think of the times you shared with Max that were good, fun and loving, and see how many of those you shared and enjoyed? Perhaps that will help give a perspective. Our pets are only “on loan” to us, never for long enough, and we can honor our time together by recalling and celebrating all of the fabulous time we were allowed to share. I hope that helps you a bit, and I invite you to join our group meeting Sep. 21st to share more about Max with us. We’re here for you. {HUGS} Toni

Sally, I still choke up when I see pictures of my dear old Squirt, and she’s been gone decades. The love doesn’t go away, and while the acute pain fades, a little pain and melancholy accompanies the memories of all the wonderful times we shared. You have lost so many loves in such a short period, it’s undertsandable that you are moved to tears. It’s okay to cry – in fact, it helps clear toxins from our bodies. Anniversaries stir up strong emotions, too and I encourage you to join our group meeting Sep. 24th in anticipation of Ooky’s. A nice suggestion from one of our members: in addition to marking the anniversary of the date of parting, celebrate the date of birth or adoption! I think that’s lovely and hope that brings you a bit of comfort. We’ll be here for you. {{HUGS}} Toni

                      • I know our energy release from our physical bodies – I saw it when my mother died – and I believe energy lingers around for awhile before being dispersed and absorbed into other energies. It’s not unusual to have dreams of a loved one that are VERY real, or to”see” or “hear” them. Whether or not that’s manufactured by our owm brains or externally from our beloved “reaching out” to us doesn’t really matter, does it? No matter your belief/s find comfort where you can.

Thank you for sharing this, Brony. And isn’t it true? We suffer the loss and agony of parting, but must remember the many joys and endless love we shared. It reminds me of my “ruler” exercise: Think of your time together as a ruler with each year being an inch. Only a fraction at the end was bad – the rest was just pure delight! This is a lovely poem and I invite others to share poems and sentiments that inspire, move or make them smile 🤗🤗💕💕Toni
