      Good morning, Toni. It’s been 10 months now since Romeo left and I am doing okay. I have okay days and not so okay days. It’s been a struggle for me to adjust to living without my boy. But, I really don’t have a choice do I, after all life will go on no matter what. Somehow, that makes me angry???
      I don’t know, maybe it’s just my situation and my age that makes it so hard. I still can’t bring myself to go to a shelter. One of my neighbors who has just returned to Florida for the winter has come to see me and she said she is thinking of getting a dog. She wants me to come with her to the shelter. I don’t know when that will happen, but I have promised her that I would go with her. So, there’s that.

        Thank you for your update, Maureen. You don’t have to accompany your friend to the shelter, but it may be good for you to see so many lives waiting for loving homes. Not that you have to take one in, but just to see the life and energy. The holiday season can be very hard and I hope you will bring forth happy memories of your holidays with Romeo.
