@sdgoga Hello and welcome to our caring community, Susan. Please tell us about your life with George, and share some photos if you like. How are you doing? Okay, I hope? Toni

    • Hello Toni, and thank you for your warm welcome. George was a very special bunny of mine. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge in May, 2022. George’s daddy, Bee Bee, was a special needs bunny, like George. Bee Bee crossed the Bridge in 2021. I really miss them. I’ve lost so many bunnies, cats, and chickens over the years. I find as I age, their losses impact me so much, much more. I currently have 7 senior bunnies, 4 cats , and 8 chickens, of which 2 are roosters. I also lost my husband, mother, and sister all within a year’s time. My animals are all I have left. I don’t know what I’d do without them. George was a white Jersey Wooly bun. He was such a gentle little soul. He developed an inner ear problem or tumor that wasn’t responding to medical treatment. My awesome veterinarian tried every possible treatment, He deteriorated and then couldn’t support himself, even though he still was eating somewhat. It was an excruciating difficult decision; however, in George’s best interest, I euthanized him. He just didn’t have quality of life. It was the most humane thing to do. Bee Bee had splayed leg, and he also developed an inner ear issue as well. He crossed the Bridge peacefully in my arms at home. I really miss them so much. Then there’s Godfrey. He was a Himalayan bunny. He was the only bunny I ever had that would come running to me when he saw me, which made it easy for me to pick him up and take him inside the house after playtime in the bunny yard. He died suddenly. It wasn’t GI stasis. I’m an experienced bunny owner and am “ in tuned” to my bunnies’ health. I surely can’t explain how he died. After I had him cremated, my vet informed me she could have performed a necropsy; but it was too late. I did find it odd when I wrapped Godfrey in his blanket to take him to the crematory, that some dried blood from his mouth was on the blanket. I never had any of my deceased bunnies display that symptom upon passing. Godfrey died a couple weeks after George. I was devastated to lose 2 if my friends in such a short time. Anyway, I could go on. I thank you, again, for welcoming me to your caring community. It truly means a lot. I’ll post a pictures soon if George, Bee Bee, and Godfrey.💝💝
      • Wow, Susan, you are clearly a kind, caring, thoughtful and generous person. To recognize that giving George a peaceful passing is truly a selfless act of love. Godfrey makes me think of a friend’s cat who was fine one moment, then just died. They surmise it was heart failure but it was without any notice or symptoms. I guess sometimes we just don’t know. I am, we are, truly happy to welcome you to our community and look forward to seeing your photos of all your “kids”. And Susan, if you would like to join our monthly group meeting April 20th, we’d love to hear more. You’ll get an email with the log-in info and details. Hang in there, Susan, and share more with us. {BIG HUGS} Toni
