    Our cat, Sea Salt, died in April. He died right in the room with me. I had just taken him to the vet, who told me of some concerning conditions Sea Salt had, but he (Sea Salt) got sick and died so quickly we didn’t even have time to get him to the vet again. :<

      1. Your cats have the best names.
      2. Do you think it was a kindness to Sea Salt that he didn’t have to suffer the ailments the vet identified? Of course it is shocking for you, and traumatic, but it sounds as if he didn’t linger and suffer.
      I am truly sorry and sad for your parting. Castiel will bring you joy and love, not to replace Sea Salt, but to add to making new memories. We look forward to photos and stories. Please let us know how you are doing. Hugs

          Hi. Thanks for responding. Yes, maybe it was for the best that Sea Salt died at home with me comforting him. Sure did hurt to lose him, though, and it has been very rough on my younger daughter, who misses him terribly. Castiel has been a blessing to us, and especially to my husband, who is actually more of a dog person. I am attempting to download my pictures from our thumb drive, so hopefully I will have pictures soon!

We recently added this to out community so you can create a lasting tribute that you can visit when you want to think of Sea Salt. It’s helpful and healing to have a special place to be with your memories. Just click the Memorials tab and share your thoughts, feelings, photos – anything that brings you comfort. Toni

                We still miss him, but we hope to rescue another kitty. We can never replace the cats we have had, but there are other kitties that need homes. Still working on downloading a picture of him. Thanks for asking about me.

                    No animal replaces another, true, but you are right about opening your heart and home to new joys and love. It has to be in your time, when you are ready. It’s lovely of you to give a happy life to more. Let us know when you adopt and we can all share in your fun!
