    @mekruchten Hello Mariann. I am sorry for your losses of Puddles and Maggie. What kind of pets were they? How are you doing? Would you share some photos of them with us?

      Hi Toni, thanks for having me here. Puddles and Maggie are our dogs we just lost 2 and a weeks apart from unknown cause 🙁

          Oh no, Mariann. That’s too much and too hard. What on earth ???? You poor thing. Are you going to be able to find out what happened?

              Toni as of right now we have no answers, Puddles was misdiagnosed with arthritis and given anti-inflammatory and passed away 2 days later. We were told ecoli from dog food and had the dog food and all treats tested…nothing. After Puddles I couldn’t take Maggie that same vet, didn’t trust him…he didn’t even do an exam or run tests 🙁 we had an appointment with another vet the day she passed.
              That vet couldn’t find anything with Maggie and said she was depressed. We searched for another vet but because of the pandemic they aren’t taking new patients. After calling 27 vets (some 2 hours away) I found one to take her and she passed the day before we went. We knew it wasn’t just depression because she wouldn’t eat and was getting bloated, she didn’t act like she was in pain though 🙁 We couldn’t find a place for autopsies so we will forever wonder. We aren’t doing well these two pups were my husbands constant companions after he lost his leg in a farm accident. They are the reason he is still with us. He developed epilepsy 2 years ago and these dogs knew when a seizure was coming on and alerted us. That is the bond that they had with him. They had the same bond with my granddaughter who has a TBI. Sorry so long but needless to say we are devastated. We want another puppy to fill a small part of the gap but are not having any luck finding one.

              My son had a Rottweiler that was misdiagnosed also she died 2 weeks after I was told she was poisoned is it possible someone could have thrown something in your yard they could have eaten. I know how bad your hurting and that big empty hole in your heart . I can guarantee you if you take your husband to a shelter and let a dog pick him out you will then begin to heal for your babies know if it wasn’t for you they wouldn’t have had that wonderful loving life and they would approve you finding a new baby to love

                  Jamie, good thought about poison. We can’t imagine anyone doing that, but it sure sounds possible that happened to Mariann’s Puddles and Maggie :-(…
