You are so very sweet, Brony. I can’t officially adopt him until the shelter neuters him and he is eligible for adoption. I have to say my home and heart are full with him, but it IS a LOT of work and time and, because of the terror of the virus (Panleukopenia), it’s been grueling. As he matures and learns it will be easier (I hope). I plan to get him comfortable with traveling in the car, and will take him on a plane ride to visit my sister. I’ll keep you posted. So Brony, how are YOU doing? BIG HUGS. Toni

Oh Toni, how precious is he? I am adopted so I am glad you adopted Mac. You make a perfect pair. He will make you laugh until your stomach hurts. Here’s to the next week. Fingers crossed.
      • @margie2 Hi Verginia, welcome to our caring community. I am sorry for your loss of Maxie and hope you will tell us about Maxie and your lives together, share some photos, and let us know how you are doing. We’re here for you, Verginia. Toni

      • Mac (the foster kitten) update: Today is day 14 of our two week quarantine due to the deadly virus Panleukopenia. It only affects cats and is very virulent and fatal. His two siblings succumbed two weeks ago and so far, Mac is doing great! Whew. It\’s been a long saga of sterilizing and medications and hoping the little darling makes it through. And it seems that Mac has made it🎉The next week will be critical and we go for vaccination next Sunday. I think I will adopt him – we\’ve become so close and know each other so well now. Here is a picture of Mac on the new cat tree I got him (I went for a litter box and came home with a tree!). Thank you all for your concern and caring following Mac\’s progress🤗Toni

Suzann, here is an idea for you, and Steven – write a note, or notes, to Mandy telling her how you feel, what you think, and are doing. Then, write back From Mandy what you think, and feel, she would want you to know. It may sound silly, but it helps us communicate, and gain perspective that can help ease some of the pains. Let us know if you try it, and how it makes you feel. I hope it helps you to know we are here for, and with you, with empathy and care.🤗💔Toni

Tbear was a shitz tzuwho was about 4 yrs old very playful and loved outdoors . The day before he got sick he was playful no signs of being sick by the next morning he was sick and throwing up . No energy wouldn’t eat but would drink water he seemed weak . I was gonna take him to a vet the next morning if he didn’t feel better but he passed around 5. That morning . I blame myself because I should have got him to a vet the day he was sick . I feellike if I had took him that day he would still be here . Tbear loved to catch mice he would eat the little ones he caught . I’m confused as y he suddenly got sick over night and died the next day . I’m depressed can’t sleep can’t handle him being gone I’m sick at my stomach been going thru it bad

Betsy, I am so very sorry for your losses. This is just heartbreaking and it is understandable that you are suffering such pain. Atumn was a huge support for you and for that, you must be grateful? Betsy, our pets are only on loan to us, never for long enough. In our heads we know one day we will part, at great cost, but also we treasure the lives we shared. I hope you can find your way to remembering Autumn with smiles before tears. And I want to thank you for extending your own sympathy to others here. That means so much, and I hope you find some comfort in reaching out. Betsy, please, tell us more. It helps to “get it out” and our kind community is here to walk this journey with you. Here is a {{HUGE HUG}} for you. 💔Toni

Deanna, I am so sorry. Molly was a beauty, and she looks so kind and sweet. It is heartbreaking to say goodbye. It just is. How long was Molly with you? Please tell us more about your lives together. We are here for you with open arms and caring hearts.💔Toni

Ah, swimming! How refreshing. It looks as if you and she lived in a fabulous place to share fun and adventures. We create years of shared experiences and have them to treasure for a life time🤗Aren’t we, and weren’t they, so very fortunate for the love we lived? {HUGS} Toni

I’ll definitely be there for the next meeting. Yeah Mandy was definitely our favorite. The young man holding her on his lap is my son Steven who will be 23 on Nov 1st. Saying goodbye is definitely the hardest part about loving a pet. I just hope she knows how much she was loved and she was happy with us. Every time I’d leave even just to check the mail when I came back in she was so excited to see me. She’d jump and run around squealing and whining like only a beagle can. I have so many pictures and videos of her and that does bring me some comfort. I just miss petting her and snuggling with her.

I was sorry to miss you, too, Suzann. We meet every third Thursday at the same time and the link is always under “Events”. Mandy was clearly a family member, and probably everyone’s favorite, (who is the young man holding her in his lap?) and that contributes to the depth of the pain in parting. This is the hard part of opening our homes and hearts – saying goodbye. We know in our heads that one day we will, but our hearts are just broken. May I encourage you to think of the many fun, funny and loving times you and Mandy shared, to lend a bit of comfort that she lived her best life with you, and for that, you can be happy. Please let us know how you are doing, Suzann. We’re thinking of you with sympathy and undertsing. 🤗Toni

Cathy, my sincere apology for not responding sooner. I’m dealing with a pet situation myself, and understand how you might feel “guilty” for something that probably was never in your control. Please tell us more details about tbear. It may help us understand what happened. And Cathy, it is so very painful to lose a beloved pet in any fashion, but please…do not try to “blame” yourself. Our pets are always only “on loan” to us (never for long enough) and I have to think something was going on with tbear that was not in your control. Please, tell us more. 💔Toni
