Bernie,
I just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you and hope the appointment you had today with your cat, went well. 🙏🤗-
How thoughtful of you, Suzanne. Bernie, please let us know what you find out. 💕Toni -
Hi there, I took Annie for her visit today. They did some blood tests and a more localized ultrasound to get a better look at the liver mass. They found that the mass had multiple small cysts and that the aspirate was a clear fluid which is consistent with a benign biliary cystadenoma and that it was an incidental finding and not believed to be the cause of the chronic diarrhea. They also said these kinds of masses can grow slowly over time and may eventually cause clinical signs like vomiting or loss of appetite by compressing the adjacent structures like the stomach & gallbladder. If it were to grow significantly larger, they might consider surgical removal at some point in the future, but they don’t believe that the liver mass itself has anything to do with the chronic diarrhea so basically I’m waiting on the results from the bloodwork and a GI panel for what the next steps would be. Depending on what they find they mentioned that options might include endoscopic or surgical intestinal biopsies, or possibly removal of the mass to prevent further complications. I’ll let you know what they find after I get the results back.
-
Thanks Suzanne, I appreciate it.
-
Will continue to pray for you and Annie. I guess on the positive side at least you know doesn’t have liver cancer.
-
Berni, I am so happy to hear that Annie is okay and that there is no cancer. Hope they find out what is causing the diarrhea. -
My, Annie is a complicated little girl, isn’t she? If I’m understanding this correctly, if the blood work shows the cause of the diarrhea and it can be treated with antibiotics or some medicine, then we monitor the liver mass. That would be a good outcome. It’s so hard to not know what’s going on, then finding out and determinig what’s best for her. You are a wonderful mother, Berni. Thank you for keeping us posted and please update us. {{HUGS to you, Annie and Andy}}. Toni

Whether you are a first time pet parent or an experienced one, you are welcome to share your questions, comments, insights, stories and photos with our community. By sharing we learn and support one another. For example, did you know a cats’ stomach is the size of a ping-pong ball and doesn’t expand the way a dogs’ stomach does? Cats in the wild eat several small “meals” a day (small rodens or birds) and it is recommended that a domestic cat be fed 3 – 5 small meals throughout the day.
Please share YOUR knowledge with us, and find useful information in our Library.
We’re here for you. Toni -

I’m so very sorry for your son’s loss of his beloved dog Doorbell. I pray that you both may feel God’s loving healing embrace. I think the idea of wearing Doorbell’s collar as a bracelet is a wonderful way to cherish the memories and remember Doorbell. -

Have your pets changed THEIR time clocks? Have you noticed a change in the times your little loved ones are awakening or asking to be fed? Most animals, including humans, are sensitive to the sun and our internal clocks are disturbed by the clock changing, but our pets don’t follow clocks – they follow the sun cycles. Don’t worry – we will all adjust and adopt new routines, so please don’t be upset with your pets if their timing is a bit different for a week or so.
Please always feel welcome to share your stories and updates with us, especially how you are coping with the passing of a beloved baby. If you haven’t joined a group meeting, I really hope you will join us at least once to talk about your experience and feelings with our kind, understanding friends.
YOU make our community work so please share your support and insights with others here who need support through their grief. We are here for everyone who wants to celebrate, and remember our beloved babies. Toni -

What a lovely way to keep him close💔 How long were they together? It hurts like nothing else can – losing a beloved friend. I hope he can think of the many fun, funny, loving times they shared and that he finds some comfort in those memories. Your son is welcome to post about his baby here, and to join our online support meeting on Thursday March 19th at 7PM eastern (4PM pacific). Toni

We encourage everyone who can to contribute to animal welfare causes. You can check them out at http://www.charitynavigator.com
There are many excellent organizations helping around the world, http://www.greatergoodcharities.org is one of them. They are helping provide for the animals in Ukraine and if you would like to make a donation, here is a link:Our community does not have a direct relationship with any of these fine organizations, but we do provide links to some under the “Giving Back” section at the bottom of each of our pages.
You can always support your local rescues and shelters by donating unused food, blankets, towels, toys, and your time💕👍💕
As we come into puppy and kitten season, adopting an older pet is another wonderful way to support our non-human friends.
Whether you donate, volunteer, or adopt, Thank You for all you do to help those in need. Toni -

Glad to hear your neck of the woods didn’t suffer the extremes some areas did. Here out west it’s been frightfully warm and dry. We’re worried about plants dying and fires starting. I’ll take a blizzard over a fire any day.
As our global weather becomes more extreme, we need to be ever more vigilant caring for our babies.
Your two handsome boys are so lucky to have YOU!!
Stay in touch Randy – it’s always a pleasure to hear from you and see those magnificent pups💕🐶🐶 -

Spoke with Diane and they are all fine🙌The two feral kitties have a shelter under a neighbor’s deck, and Diane continues to feed them. Lincoln is hanging in there👍You are kind for asking and caring.
May we hear more about YOUR babies? See some pctures? Toni -

Hi everybody. Doing ok out here in N.E. Pa. Big storm missed us this past wkend. We just got a few inches of snow & some wind – not the blizzard conditions they had forecast. Thank God! My 2 boys are doing well: running, playing, eating & sleeping w/out a care in the world. Ahh, the life of a house dog. I hope everyone & their pets survived the storm & came out unscathed. Hopefully spring is right around the corner! Take care all.-
