Melinda, I am so sorry for your family at the passing of darling Shorty (aptly named) 💔We know in our heads that our pets are only “on loan” to us, but our hearts shatter when we say goodbye. You, your daughter and family are invited to join our group support meeting tomorrow (Thursday) to share more about your lives together with Shorty. You will meet kind, understanding pet lovers and it will be good to meet you. We’re here for you all. Toni -

Just a note to Lisa. My beloved Zoe lived 14 years, 7 months, 6 days, 11 hours and 2 minutes. She passed in 2016 and I grieve for her everyday. I have two rescue with me now. I love them very much but I still long for the chance to bury my face in Zoe’s neck and snuggle with her. It won’t go away but you learn to accept their absence and just miss them always. God Bless You!

Linda, you must have been with Zow when she was born, to know to the minute how long you enjoyed sharing a life of love. Were you? Linda, if you can, join our meeting this Thursday to talk about Zoe and meet some undertsanding and supportive friends who can help you crawl through your grief of saying goodbye to Zoe. The link to join is under “Events” on the right side of this page. If you can’t join, please keep sharing with us here. We are thinking of you. Toni

Lisa, three months is not a long time. If you think of your time together as a ruler, with each year being an inch, three months is a fraction of the loving, fun and funny times you shared. 💔You may find three years from now something will trigger a memory and it all comes flooding back, hopefully with smiles for the joy you gave and received. Tell us about your baby, share some pictures if you like, and please join our group meeting Thursday March 21st to talk about how you are feeling. We are here for you. Toni

Lisa, I am so sorry for you loss of Trixie 💔 I lost my boy last year in January and my heart is still aching. It hasn’t been that long ago when you lost your Trixie and you are still in the beginning stage of grief. I know how heartbroken you are and my heart hurts for you. Sending you warm, comforting hugs at this very sad time. 💔

Hi Christina🤗That’s too bad about little Alvin, but I think IBD can be addressed with diet (maybe meds) and he should do well. Have you thought to ask your local shelter for their insights? How are you doing now – still writing to June? I hope having Alvin is bringing you much joy. I find that, while I will always miss my beloved, departed babies, having another life to care for and about really lifts the pain, and I can be happy for the lives we shared and not feel so sad. Are you finding that? If you can, please join our kind group March 21st at 7 PM Eastern. The link is under Events on the right side of this page. I am glad to hear from you and look forward to hearing more about Alvin💕 -

Sorry I haven’t checked in for a while. Been keep busy with my new fur baby Alvin. Found out that he has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He is on Hydrolyzed Protein food. Its dry food and I am hoping to find wet food that I can give him that will help him from not bringing up his food. He is 7 and will be 8 in July. He is a fun loving kitty too.

Amber, your sentiment is powerful, true and inspirational – we feel the acute pain of parting, but can also remember why we opened our hearts in the first place, and recall the many years of joy and love you and Khemosavvy shared💕I am truly sorry for your parting, and happy for the years you and Khemosavvy got to romp and ride. You wouldn’t trade that in, would you? Please join us March 21st in our group meeting to share more with us. I think you will find some comfort talking about Khemosavvy with our caring community. We are here for you, always. Toni

What a lovely, and true, sentiment. We DO feel the pain of loss acutely, but with time, and thought, can remember why we opened our homes and hearts in the first place, knowing one day we would have to say goodbye, but never regretting EVERY day we shared love and joy.
