My precious boy Thumper went over the rainbow bridge on April 26, he was 12 and I miss him so much 💕💕-
Pam, so sorry for the loss of your beautiful baby. He reminds me if my own boy who I lost going on 4 months ago. It is the worst heartache 💔 -
Thank you Maureen, it is definitely the worst heartache 💔 I’m sorry for the loss of your boy ❤️
-
Oh Pam, it IS a heartbreak like no other, isn’t it? It was a love like no other, too. What a wonderful time you and Thumper shared, and how many sweet memories you made together. While we know in our heads one day we will have to say goodbye, in our hearts we are never ready. The shame is our pets are only on loan to us, never for long enough. I hope you know Thumper lived his best life because of you, and I hope that you can find smiles before tears with your memories. {{HUGS}} Toni -
Thank you Toni, it’s been hard 😪💔

Hi Wendy, you came to the right place to be with people who understand. I love it when those who are grieving open up and make this connection with others who are in the same situation. You can’t talk your pain away but you at least don’t feel so alone with it. Please tell us why you joined, I would like to know what brought you here. You are among kindred spirits! -

Hi LaRonda, I love what you say about Harry: first you rescued him and then he rescued you. They do that, don’t they? It is hard to go on without him but he became part of you and that will never go away. He made you into who you are now and he’ll want you to look forward, eventually. Part of grieving is to learn how to feel them inside of you and to accept that while you lost their bodies their soul cannot be taken away from you. And that will give you the strength and courage to love again. You’ll never replace him in your heart but because you are richer than when you were before you met him you will be able to give again. And that’s beautiful. The sadness will never quite go away but the pain will get weaker – and your heart will be bigger. Sending you good wishes! -

I have been having a very hard time since I lost my baby to cancer 6 weeks ago.
It started with a strange cough at the first part of February and and ended with breathing problems at the middle of March. I really don\’t understand how this all happened and so fast.
He was only 10 1/2, I just really thought he would have lived at least several more years.
I had absolutely no idea he was THAT sick. I just really miss him so very much.-
Chris, so sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to say goodbye to our fur babies especially when it happens so suddenly. Your boy is so cute and I know you loved him and did everything you could to help him. Sending you Hugs 🫂

Chris, I am so sorry. And I thank you for sharing this important information so we can all be aware of signs of trouble. We don’t get to choose how long our pets are with us, we only get to love on, and with, them for the time we are granted, which is never long enough, and we will love them forever. I am truly so sorry for your loss. Please join us May 18th for our group support meeting to share more. We’re here in our community for you, Chris. {{HUG}} Toni

It\’s been a rough few months. We said goodbye to my sweet little boy dozer he was 15 years old. But we are glad he is out of pain and with his brother brutis side by side again and forever.-
Heather, like any good mom you are thinking about his well being first! Imagining him with his brother and free of pain can help you handle the pain and grief of losing him. Take good care of yourself and I hope you can tell us more about Dozer. He’s lucky to have had you and I am sure you feel glad he was with you for a long time. Wishing you well!

missing my candie girl. she was 14 when I had to put her down on 4/14/2023. we lost her brother Stoner (cat) in 2019 and then my husband 2021 due to covid. the family we created is now gone and its very sad. Miss them all so very much. Candie helped me thru the most difficult times. miss her so dang much but I know she missed her daddy more and she\’s probably hamming it up with him and her brother. -

LaRonda, I am so very sorry. Yes it hurts unlike any other pain – they are a part of our souls indeed. I hope you will allow yourself to think of what you saved Harry from and find comfort knowing he had the best life with you. Harry would want you to be happy for the years you shared, do you think? I’m sure he was happy and grateful for your love and care. If there is a downside to loving pets it is that they aren’t with us long enough, no matter how long it is. That’s something we take on when we take in a beloved dear friend. Please join our group meeting Thursday May 18th to talk about Harry. It can help. And know we are here for you with sympathy and understanding. Toni -

So sorry for your loss. I understand completely how you feel. My boy passed a few months ago and like you, my boy saved me. I didnt rescue him, he came to me at a time when I didn’t want to live anymore. My son gifted him to me so I would have a reason to live. Romeo was my reason and now he’s gone. This grief is the worst and I am right back where I was before he came into my life. I wish you peace send you hugs 🫂 to comfort you during this sad time. 💔
-
Thank you all for your kind words, I will never recover from his loss, each day gets harder without him, he was my strength on my weak days and my sunshine on my dark days, I have MS and he kept me going everyday, I knew he would never make it without me as I have found out, I’m barely making it without him, it’s been a little over 7 months since he passed,
-
LaRonda, grief has no timetable and it can be years, or never, until you open your home and heart to another. It may be sooner though. We are not “replacing” our beloved, we’re sharing a loving lfe with another who needs and deserves a good life. Perhaps one day you will be ready for that. Do you think Harry would be happy for you both? You might start a “Joy” list of all the wonderful times you and Harry shared for 14 years – it’s a way to remember how much you added to each others lives. Please come to our group June 15th and you will hear from others who understand and will support you. The link is under “Events” on the right side of this page. {{BIG HUGS}}. Toni

Hi, LaRonda, this must be so hard! I am sorry life is so dark for you these days. And I am sure Harry would want you to open your heart again. As Toni says, we can never and we don’t want to replace a beloved pet. Harry was unique and will stay forever in your heart. But I am sure he has friends and fellows who are desperate to find a home. You can save someone from having a life in a shelter who would like your love and attention. You can do it for Harry, dedicate it to Harry. There is so much need out there and you can do something about it. You have love to give – and receive. Please consider it. Best wishes to you!

Oh my goodness, Alison, what a handsome boy. I am so sorry. Our pets are only on loan to us, never for lng enough, and although fourteen years is a long lifespan for Louie, it’s all to short for you. I truly am sorry. What breed/s was Louie? What did you do together? I hope your memories of the good times you shared bring you joy, and that you find smiles before tears with his memory. Toni -
